You know it’s crazy to think about all the memories you made with your friends when you had all the time in the world on the brink of growing up. You all go your separate ways to start your own lives and gradually over time you lose touch only to hear from them from time to time. Most people lose touch in their own hectic lives the older you get. You can promise all the promises about it but in end the same thing happens to us all not by our own choice. I hope this generation of young adults can overcome the hurdle of keeping life long friends I have high hopes that we’ll be better but that’s a tough mountain to climb in this day and age. Sometimes I look at my parents hearing all the stories of these crazy people or friends they used to have that lost touch hoping that never becomes me. But here I am vibing to this song relating to every word because the same thing is happening in my life as we speak. I wanna reach out but I fear too much time has gone by and my friends won’t feel the same about me like they used to

This really hits hard...when I was 17 I had the time of my life. I was at the happiest point of my life after being bullied as a kid growing up I found a group of friends when I was 16-18 that I loved spending every minute with. I could walk to their house and just talk for hours on end, sometimes sleeping over. It was literally the definition of being "the boys" but as we grew older we all have our own responsibilities and life moves on...I now work a corporate job at age 20 (while studying my Bachelors degree) at a big multinational accounting firm. Work is tough and tedious, and people say I am succeeding in my career getting a role in a big company only in my 2nd year of University. Whilst that's true my social side of life has been suffering. I don't feel a close connection with my boys anymore. I often think back to how it was like in those days where I felt happy...it's been a hot minute since then.

This describes the kind of disconnect we have from our friends especially now. That energy when you're actually physically there with your friends is just different, it's a stronger connection. When it's just through zoom, phone call or a text it all seems so much less what you'd actually say or do at that moment being so distant. I think there are going to be alot of moments when more friendships could've been created by just going out, but not alot of us do that anymore. Alot of relationships that could've been with some fly chick walking down the street you meet up with during the summer time, that doesn't happen too often either. Song got me in my feels about 2021 and what the years bring to the uncertainty of friendships and how we interact with one another in the future.
