Dr. Pai, as always you call the best talents and well researched topics specially on nakshatras, very informative and I must congratulate Achalaji for a commendable work done. Its the Rishis work that has to be brought to light with a right perspective and research not the todays petty astrology. Considering waxing and waning, is waxing phase ideal to initiate new goals like applying for a job and such? Specially if your goal is more extrovert type! If it is more research type or back stage type of work, then I think waning would do better right! Here is an example: there is this job that is about burning a prairie to restore it to a healthier version. So, burning first is like get the old out (like harvest the grown in waning phase). Another example is of a manager role, dominant role of an independent type of leader. If it happens during waxing moon, then it would make more sense to be extrovert more! By natal, I am born in waning as it is. And, often times, I feel like wouldn't it be nice to own a business with a life partner as waning is like going back to your other half! You can still have good professional relation with another employer. But, waning natal and waning transit make me tilt more towards the research work. I would have less struggle to follow the tides. I am 100% capable and confident in managerial role no doubt. But, it would just take more push and willpower while the other work would just flow! If you could share your opinion on it, will be grateful!

Also, waxing means growth. Waning is more like exploration, contemplation, research. The Research job is seasonal. For me, it is a kind of experience to explore at this point. Therefore, by mind feeling, I am tilting that way. Of course, other birth chart details come into play. But, waning growth is more inward type like learning new material. Managerial role is more outward, learning but also executing. I am over thinking I know. But, I would want to apply for managerial role on a new moon or waxing phase so it can grow!

Another note: the new moon this month will be in mrigashira (sun and moon both in mrigashira) means the cycle of exploration. My natal moon is in mrigashira too. I am up for some deer search ;) Because it is waxing, it will be external quest not internal. If I apply today for research related work and get it facilitated to start by waxing phase this month, it would be ideal. I may over think, but I think smart. I have experienced my own moods :) I got my answer. Still share your view if you have!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Achala and Dr. Pai. Have a question, if you can please answer. If at the time of birth, the tithi is Pratipad but on the same day at the time of sunrise, the tithi is Purnima, then which tithi would be considered for the native. Coming from the background that for fasting, we consider tithi which is there at the time of sunrise. Would be great to have your opinion on it. Thank you so much guys.

For jataka (birth chart reading) you need to always take the tithi, karana, etc. of the present moment, Anurag ji.
