Labelling up our bags of wool to take to our intermediate depot. Sadly the wool isn't worth much, it might not even cover the cost of shearing. But shearing has to be done for the welfare of the sheep. I like to send the wool to the wool board as it will be used for something but also tidies things up and your not then left with a heap of wool.

You’re doing a great job there. Here in Co .Kilkenny south east of Ireland we had it cold with little ur no grass growth in June, Suckler Cows and Calves on silage for to weeks now to give fields a chance to grow.

You explaining the perilous situation you and your family and crew are in Nicola is not "complaining" to me but rather the realistic climate you and other farmers are in! What I have always enjoyed in your videos are the Real and Raw emotions that You, Your Dad and Davy deal with when the "Lollipops and Gumdrops" of Farming are not scattered everywhere! You all stay humble and yet even in the bad times you manage to make a joke and smile and that there shows us Fans just how Classy you are! Chin Up and Keep Strutting and Smiling and if it helps please know your Fan Base are always sending you ALL positive vibes! Cheers From Across The Pond In COW-lumbus, Ohio MOO 👋

Hi Nicola, I have been watching but not commenting on your great channel. I grow up in Australia in the 60's and so much here was made from merino wool. For example: Everyday clothes like suits, trousers, jackets, duffle coats, flannelette shirts, sockets, singlets, and dressing gowns. School clothes like trousers, jumpers and blazers. In the bedroom there were wool blankets on every bed and flannelette sheets for the winter. If 20 million British people purchased wool produces like above imagine the extra employment, cash flow and wool used to produce these items. It's not new technology, they have been made for hundreds of years. The newest trend is to have 100 % wool donnas, doona covers and mattress protectors. We need to ditch the synthetic products and use healthy organic wool. Chris from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺

An open and honest video which clearly explains and shows the challenges which you have on the farm . It’s a shame there is no greater value in the wool that you provide and it’s a disgrace the lambs meat value is falling but I’m guessing that’s to do with the previous governments deals with other countries to supply meat which is wrong. Keep smiling as you have a fantastic positive outlook!👍 I feel your frustration and can

Hi Nicola enjoyable vid as always, hopefully wool and lamb prices will pick up soon but highly unlikly, as for the weather from what I have read there is a cold front stopping the warm air from the gulf stream from covering the UK, so we are stuck with this colder weather for the moment but hopefully for not much longer.

Love your channel, keep doing what you are doing keeping it real. What happened to the lamb in the last clip when they knocked the barrier down? Always amazed by how “dumb” some sheep are😳❣️

I'm not a farmer, this is a genuine question. Given shite weather early on could you lamb later and keep the lambs until Ramadan when the price seems to be good? Is that bonkers????

It’s a tricky one as we use the lower lying fields to lamb on, move the sheep to higher ground in summer months to allow the lower lying fields to grow back again for making winter food off as the growing season is better lower down. We work a graze, cut for silage, graze pattern if that makes sense?

@LivestockfarmHER2 not as simple as I thought. Difference between knowledge and total ignorance on my part. Hope you get better weather soon. Great channel and content 👏
