That was such a nice message by the end. And honest too, it's ok to swim through depression every once in a while cause... At the end of the day ignoring it will just hurt you more. But remember to resurface and just have a good time once in a while as well. I know it's easier said than done but... Try it. I mean... As a depressive, self-loathing dumbass, I also do that. I dip in the void for a while but then I get out and live my life a bit. It's hard sometimes but you just have to try... I mean I'm 24 years old dumbass who somehow has found a loving and wonderful boyfriend (despite the fact I'm ugly in and out) and I'll soon be starting my first job (yeah 24 and I'm only getting my first job now). As shitty as things can seem, there will be a light somewhere, just remember to at least give it a try to find it. And Kwite you're not the only one who needs therapy, EVERYONE does. Even the people that are "mentally healthy" should cause, there will always be something that nag at us and that we can't understand or don't know how to deal with, and that can grow into something worse so... Get therapy y'all (if you can that is, if you can't try to at least talk with someone. Even if they are not a therapist (and please don't make them your therapist) it might help).

Hausu is my favorite movie of all time... It is so difficult to put into words how it makes me feel. It's like a feeling that can only be expressed through visuals, like this crazy unique movie... I see people saying the World War 2 angle is only overanalyzing, but not only did the director explicitely said this is a movie about ww2, any piece of art can interpreted in any way imaginable, and anything can be represented in any way in art. I feel like western audiences have a difficulty understanding this because american movies really lack a freedom of expression in them. Visual metaphors are rarely as elaborate and as omnipresent in american cinema and far out stuff like Hausu rarely gets taken seriously. You wouldve never seen an american camp slasher movie be made as a sincere metaphor for something like the Vietnam war, especially in the 70s or 80s. Even today it would be seen as idiotic. I didnt know about the ww2 metaphor when first watching the movie, so I didnt get it at all. Even the more obvious scenes didnt make me get it. The movie still stayed with me. There was just something about it that obsessed me. Too many things like some lines of dialogue were too precise to not mean anything. Then I read about what the director meant by it, I understood everything that felt strange to me and now every time I watch the movie I find myself overflowing with so many new emotions. Nobuhiko Obayashi wanted to make a movie to tell HIS feelings, he wanted to express HIS personal experience on ww2. If nobody got it, fine. This movie is pure expression. It is so extremely sincere, as if this was the only way for him to express the exact things he wanted to say about World War 2 in Japan.
