How much do quokkas cost? Where and how to buy a quokka? This video will answer it for you.
We go into all the facts about habit, behavior, personality, required space and legal rules on why you cannot buy quokkas. Yes that's right, quokkas are not for sale.
Australia if you're listening we need to do something to actually protect the quokkas before they go extinct. I found a quokka hit by a bicycle that unfortunately died. You make so much money from all the tourists that go there but you don't want to help the quokkas. Stop being so greedy and do something to save the quokkas.

You’re right, the quokka’s deserve to benefit from the tourism money and not have their habitat destroyed. I’m surprised that there’s no vet esp since I bet a lot of islanders make their incomes off of bringing people there for selfies

That poor Quokka... whoever did that to him/her needs to die. I realize this video is over a year old, but were you able to get aid- what happened to him/her? I've seen videos posted here of idiots feeding them biscuits and handling them-- people suck.

If we want to live around quokkas, just work and reside in Rottnest Island! Maybe help conserve and replant the quokkas’ environmental habitat. One problem though.. the more human inhabitants in Rottnest, the greater chances these smiling cuties will become extinct...😩

Also, with some of the donations, maybe they could hire a Vet. to come in and treat them when they are sick? A quokka Sanctuary should be top priority.

Interesting. Seems like if you wanted there to be more Quokkas you would want there to be a profit incentive to breed them.

Making them pets and breeding them would actually probably be one of their best bets for survival. Look at the axolotl, it is a harder to keep animal, but its usage as a pet has saved its numbers and massively prevented inbreeding

There is no vet on the island, zero. That's why it needs to change. The ranger came, but again has zero vet skills or knowledge and just put it down. This starts the conversation of getting a vet on the island

@@daxon thanks for explaining . Didn't mean to be an arse but i broke out into tears when i saw that. Perhaps you could talk to authorities and do your best to have a vet on the Island. I mean if tourism is getting more and more there will be more and more quokkas and other animals involved in accidents. Is there anything i can do?

I would think the Australian Government would tear down those tourist buildings and block off that land for the endangered quokkas. Build up their habitat and not allow humans in. Then only on a guided tour when they make a come back. Something has to be done to save them!

Lefty brain: "It's be better for this animal that only exists in one place to be exploited and slowly die out! Keeping them as pets would be EEEEEEEVILLLLL!" The people that say this have NO comprehension of life in "the wild" or even an inkling of what it feels like to go hungry. I'm glad that pet traders are selling Quokkas!

If you want animals to continue to grow you breed them, not leave them endangered In the same environment i think allowing people to buy them and make them pets would be a good thing since they're population would grow all over the world, the only logical reason to exclusively keep them there is for money (tourism) but the problem is the country as a whole isn't doing anything to help these animals or breed them to a healthier population so what's the point ?
