Hey Ollie a superb video. I am a friend of the Great Central and I looking forward to the time when the line is reunified and we will be able to travel from Ruddington to Loughborough. Thankyou my young friend for showing this great line. Take care and stay safe :) :) :)

This and what you’re doing (amongst other things) has really made me rethink about what I can do. I’ve always had a secret passion for carriage and wagon, particularly in narrow gauge. Maybe I should delve into the realms of wagon restoration myself…

I enjoyed that Ollie! so what's going to be the next purchase? 🤣most people seam to over look what was the real profit side of railways. Since leaving the CVR, & moving to Derbyshire, I get to see a large amount of freight & engineering trains on my door step. often see BR Petroleum branded TEA tank wagons still in use + the odd MFA ballast wagons still in use. The Colne's ballast wagon is a ex London Transport, (North Norfolk & Whitwell & Reepham station) also use them!

I’m very jealous you get to see freight on your door step! Regarding the next purchase, I have a couple of wagons I’m trying to get my hands on but it’s proving to be Impossible!

That's a great video Ollie. Not often can we see an in-depth view of the GCR and the Rolling Stock they have. There's some high standards of repair there. I love watching the Sign Writers and all the tools and brushes involved. A nice little fortune in the Quorn yard there. The only dual-track Heritage Railway, I've always wanted to go and have a look. Nice filming and great informative interviews there. Nice one Ollie. Keep Safe, mate. Cheers!

I reckon Ollie will be buying more wagons now after that visit and chat to Nick. Its nice to hear from owners and their reasons what made them purchase their stock as most of the time we do not hear anything at all and wonder ...."I wonder who owns that?

That was an excellent, its basically a wagon documentary, really interesting. Quorn & Woodhouse is about 25min from me I visit at least half a dozen times a year especially like the trains at work & diesel galas.

Another great video Ollie !! Really enjoyed the inter mix of interviews and footage of rail operation during your visit. You got a great balance between the two. Also enjoyed the interview with Nick Tinsley, really interesting to hear his thoughts, experiences and insight into a little thought of area of the preservation scene, but a very important one never the less. Really enjoyed this episode and more than happy to see similar in the future.

Astounding work once more mate! That interview with Nick really stuck with me on how you can't tell the story of railways without the wagons. Furthermore, brilliant job cutting in shots of engines in operation to help transition or segue between questions and segments! I know that I would like to see more of those kinds of transitions in future diary entries, doesn't matter to me if the footage was taken on a different railway or on a different day, but a nice short trainspotting shot even now and then to break up the episode. I also really hope you talk to other groups and people about other kinds of restoration they do! Visiting railways to show that little seen part of preservation would be amazing! Once more, great work. Have a nice day mate. -Connor

My Sunday morning stroll with my father was to roam around the coal wagons in the sidings off the Watford-St.Albans branch, just north of Odhams and the Watford by-pass. The last private owner I saw there was a Hurst Nelson wagon. I've always had a fascination for the wooden bodied coal wagon and I've modelled too many of them.
