“Among the signs of the Hour are that knowledge will decrease and ignorance will prevail.” Sahih Bukhari 81 A woman does not bend over in front of a man during prayer. Roku (a prayer position) is practically grabbing the ankles. Yet people turn this into a "womans rights" issue... just ignornace. May Azawajal grant us knowledge that benefits.

There's too much discussion about women leading prayer. In my opinion....if she is true in her faith and capable....let her!!! Do you truly believe Allah cares? He looks at your heart and intentions...not your gender. Too much is placed on custom and tradition, and not enough on the veneration of the divine.

If she started a women only jewish synagog and proclaimed her self a rabbai she will be in jail for anti semetic charges. Someone who is not currently married cant give advise on marriage...until she marry a muslim man. An Imam obtains credentials like how a priest does from the church and cannot be self pro-claimed. There is No female Monks, No female Pope, No female priests or Rabbai's. Even Nun's cover the hair. Nun's wear kind of a Hijab. Dear Sherin Khankan stop putting excessive perfume or makeup and try to hide your beauty from strangers in public like Quran order you to do. Try being a boarder line muslim first before proclaiming yourself an Imam (Imam is masculine male verb in Arabic by the way), you would become an Imam'ah which is a feminine word in Arabic. Multiple women in groups of four at a time will always be allowed to have one husband and female share of inheritance will always be smaller then related males. Quran is not editable. Women in Islam are not allowed to read the Quran or fast or pray when they are on their monthly period, so i assume the mosque will be closed a few days per month ?????? Regards..

Show me the hadith that says women should not be leading the prayer!!!! And if it's not mentioned in the Quran, why do you have to look for something that denies it? Only 300 years after the dead of our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.s) men start changing it and brought their own rules.... why??? because of POWER!!! without they feel powerless and I pity you guys!! And if you come with perverted ideas why a woman should not lead a prayer, then you should learn first about the prayer. What do you do during the prayer? thinking about sex oder how to communicate with God? If you Communicating with God, then you will not be distracted by even a naked woman right next to you!!! Think about this!!! WASALAM

The thing i see is if we really look at things carefully, some things could be logically deduced. It is not like everything should be said explicitly. For example, Allah does say that women should not be prophets, but has anyone heard of a woman prophet sent to a nation? Let us not see everything as a form of keeping women down. We all have our roles as men and women.
@fathanahrafee995

this is because u have to see from the social context in that period of time where the people were vicious towards female (e.g. a culture to kill baby girls born in households like caliph umar before he converted). if Allah had sent a woman prophet at the time, the society wouldnt budge to accept the truth. so for now, as the modern society has progressed, and women are being acknowledged more than ever, this male-centered culture must change!
@aboubacarsissoko4342

" if Allah had sent a woman prophet at the time, the society wouldnt budge to accept the truth." I don't think that is a solid argument because even with many of the male prophets in the past have been rejected by the societies in which they are sent. Also, Women have thrived in the past a queen and powerful individuals like the queen Balkissa for instance. Second, sending a woman as prophet could have been the best way of showing that men and women are equal and could lead equally in everything. If the society does not budge to accept her, Allah could simply destroy them as He has done in the past.

why don't you show anything fro Al Quran or Hadith that allow a woman can lead a prayer. After the dead of our Prophet..Aisyah (ummul mukminin) never take charge to lead a public prayer. And Bro...woman can lead a prayer if there is no Man around. No Man around doesn't mean that they can establish an all female mosque.

One should not be looking "ahead/up" when standing in ir during prayer. One should be looking "down" at about 45 degrees. When women are leading prayer.. women are in front with "barrier" & gap in between both. Barrier - Covering - Partition.

Stating that men are required to lead prayers [ barring women from leading ] would be an innovation, a new rule, in Islam. Men have traditionally led prayers primarily due to cultural and social influences rather than religious restraints. There is no reason why a qualified woman can not lead a prayer. In my opinion, it would help all people learn more self-control {e.g. (some) men could learn to control their 'sexual desires,' ego, and actions more as they would have to focus on lowering their gaze more in order to pray}. Every person should be able to pray free of physical desires and ego, with humility, and should be focused on God alone.

@Mohamud Ahmed What you say or I say doesn't matter. What the message of the Quran and The Messenger says is. They do not block women from leading prayers. Other people established those 'rules,' but in doing so went against the heart of The Message. The Quran even speaks within itself about how religions have been corrupted over time by those who wish to change the message for personal gain and power. Did you read the Quran verse? If you are a believer, that is the message from our conversation. Peace be upon you. (I wonder if I too would have called The Prophet, pbuh, or Allah, 'Dude' if the Quran was recited directly to me). I hope when that day comes I am able to improve my manners and character as the Prophet, as the Walking Quran, taught His many messages. Peace be upon you.

All Prophets p.u .them were Imams. Do you know any woman prophet? Even the best of women Mariam binti Imran (mother of Isa a.s) never was an Imam to anyone. After Rosul s.a.w. passed away none of his daughters or wives were not public imams. So if you want to follow authentic Islam there should not be Imams from women leading men's Salah. If you want still be lead by woman imam then do not call it islam or traditional salah. You just created new religion for yourselves.

Well then that's why the leading women should be one who cannot bare children for example a Elder women, or barren women, or younger girls whom have not reached puberty, or just women who want to learn once competent, this is also educate and helps women girls learn, and gain confidence, sometimes I think many men like having dominance for the wrong reasons, bu Idon't see a problem, older women do not get their period, also for all women it's good to learn. My culture elder women like Native wahine(women) of New Zealand have similar tradition as Arabs well according to my family tree my family lineage is, and my people would have women call the visitors onto the land in a cultural way and then man takes over inside the house with prayers and speech, men walk into the house first to protect women, and men sit at front of women, women recite chant after the mans speech only if needed, men do most of the reciting prayers. Women these days many are speaking because men lack the skills, I believe women should be able to help men, as they say a home needs a women's feminine touch, culture, religion should be praised together equally in this way it should be respected. If men think thoughts of Lustful temptation, then that proves their faith in Allah is weak, any persons who believe in God should have strength to reject Shaytans Evil whispers. I don't understand how men expect women to be demoralised and under them when thy womb Is Carried for 40wks inside a women is the creation of Man, Allah gifted us women to carry life, in which Allah gives the breath of life. From a cultural view, men were usually at the front to protect us women, not because of superiority. But men were stronger than women, but these days many men are far from that, it's sad to see. My forefathers all protected their women and I come from a long line of Chiefs. And i will tell you i come from 56 Generations of Chieftainship and some were Women. Many men from the beginning of this ideological movement many sinned, so why should I or many others follow such slander. Many uneducated third world countries would assume it's because women are meant to be slaves, and once in writing it is taken way out of context. If a man who is righteous whom has never sinned stones a women let he be one whom has never sinned. That is what Isa Pbuh said to the Romans according to their beliefs, so in saying that why does man dare to go against the Prophets Messenger. These days women many of us are providers of our families and we are thousands of different nations can do just as much as a man can, and many men have lost their way and become women and weak at the knees of Shaytan. Women are less likely to stray. Fact! May we be blessed with the knowledge and think in the right way, may Allah forgive us all and the world, may thee have mercy on us, for thee loveth us unconditionally, may our people who follow Islam Practice Allah's lore/Law in the right way and not be mislead. Peace in thy heart, thy mind and thy soul and keep us from separation, and stressed our Faith, for Our Lord Almighty Allah is most merciful, illa ilahi ila allah ana muhammadin rasuloolah there is only one God, and bless the messenger Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alayhi w'AlSallaam. May Allah bring Peace to our world and redeem us from all Evil. Amine.

Whilst this is a logical approach we must remember that no woman led the prayers in the masjid at the time of the Prophet SAW. Theres no point in doing an act of worship which won't be accepted by Allah. We should stick to the way the Prophet SAW did things, that's the safer way.

Unapologetic Muslim But prophet never prohibited it himself and no his age was different so we have to adapt with age in halal ways of course e.g. women r leaders and armies and rich without husbands. But I wonder how will they lead salah consistently if they have period often? And even if a female Imam past her period leads the salah, would she be able to lead long salah like tarawee consistently?
@peonypink7943
@peonypink7943 3 жыл бұрын
@@WhiteGeared well, you could argue that not being able to do wudhu is restricted to those who are sick/unwell. Periods are not a sickness and is not unclean. If blood was unclean men would not have prayed in blood when in battlefields. If a woman has periods where she is unwell, then yes it makes sense she is not able to cleanse (and therefote pray) or fast but if not, then there's no issue. Keen to hear your well-researched and intelligent thoughts in a reply. Thanks.
@WhiteGeared
@WhiteGeared 3 жыл бұрын
@@peonypink7943 As far as I understand, there's no citation from prophet himself that says salah with period is permissible, rather opposite is true. And no, blood from physical strikes and blood from biochemical reaction is vastly different. It is said by prophet to not wash martyrs rather bury with bloodsoaked state that they are in which is opposite for periodical blood. So the question remains if a female Imam can wash clean and it seems the period stopped, will it be still valid to pray or lead prayers. It seems yes but better not to handle the situation where she misjudged the next occurance of the period when it happens during salah. It will then complicate the situation tenfolds e.g. if the followers prayers are valid as they don't know and many others I can think of. And as far as I understand, this restriction doesn't apply to fasting at all. Females can fast whether they are in period or not. I meant only salah when citing 'prayer' word.

Firstly, I wanna apologize to all women. I am not sexist and I believe that goes for the teaching of Islam. The Prophet Esa mother, who came from a Prophetic family but yet she was not made a Prophet. The Grand Quran quotes that she was above ALL WOMEN and yet no Quranic evidence that she was a prophet or made an Imam AQ.03:43 - OH MARYAM, WORSHIP THE LORD DEVOUTLY. PROSTRATE YOURSELF AND KNEEL WITH THOSE WHO KNEEL. The Grand Quran says that, Maryam prostrate herself. It means that she did her salat by herself without congregation. At the same time she was asked to Kneel with those who kneel. That simply means, kneeling which is a form of prayers where people humble themselves not in the same way as a congregation salat. Possibly in a form of zikir [remembrance of ALLAH] or in a form of du3 [prayers]...... ALLAH KNOWS BEST

Allah SWT created 124000 Prophets and not one of them was a woman. If that does not explain the plight of women then what does ? If you empathize with women I can understand; but it does not warrant an apology. Still ; we see the ideal condition of woman in the example of Mary who was satisfied with her Lords decree. But somehow woman today is not so satisfied. Buckle up brothers or prepare for the worse. Sometimes You've got to be cruel to be kind.

@@zakamoto1643 Oh and do you know the 124000 Prophets? If their identities are unknown how are you certain that none of them were female? Also, think about it rationally. Historically women have had very little to no rights at all in society. Even when Allah SWT sent Muhammad SAS who was the last and most recent Messenger, their society was STILL such that women had ZERO rights and were treated as subhuman if you look into the history. So you can just imagine a women's state in societies that came before. And we already know when Allah SWT sent messengers, they've usually been met with great opposition from the very beginning. You think that in those olden times, had a female delivered the message instead they wouldve be more inclined to listen when they already refused to listen to a man? It stands to reason that THE most effective way to have gotten a message across in those times was to send a man. Even now, people are still more inclined to listen to and believe men. It wouldve essentially been a waste of a message to send a female in times where women were not meant to be seen or heard. She wouldve been burned at the state asap for being a witch. Even IF they were all males, the logic is flawed to draw the conclusion that they were all males so they could lead prayer and be imams when there's a more logical explanation as to why they were all males. It's not like all societies before prayed the same way or were even prescribed prayer or had the equivalent concept of an "imam" either so it doesn't even make any sense to say thats the reason.

Prophet Muhammad Says in authentic Hadith: "This nation does not agree on a fallacy" This means that the consensus of scholars of old will never take place on something that is false! So if it has always been observed that it is not allowed for a woman to be Imam, or for people to do Salat in a mixed congregation, and not a single disciple or scholar of old even suggested otherwise; then anything else is by necessity false and innovation!

Unfortunately you are correct with the current situation of women not being able to stay home and care for the children they helped bring into this world. That was what feminism has struggled for and got women into even though most women at the time of the feminist movement couldn't care less about going out and working even harder and leaving their children with strangers. If you notice, it is still an issue because its unnatural for it to be the proper way of raising a family.

In my humble opinion, our beloved prophet say to follow Quran and Sunnah. There is nothing that the prophet 'forgot' to tell us or did not have time to 'show'. If it is permissible for woman to lead men, there must have been an incident Aisya lead or any noble women or mother lead her male children etc. As it happened..this never took place during prophet time or Sahaba or Calipha. Didn't the prophet said best worship place for women is in her inner part of the hoyse? Is that not clear? Why people make a big fuss about equality stuff...man and woman are different end off. I think the bigger deal is your core believe..so woman...get real..our purpose is slightly different from man! Live with it and don't try to be something you are not. Take example of famous muslima in the history and try to follow their good examples if you want to be on the straight path. If not..live with your thoughts and don't persuade others to stand up for the wrong thing.

@nofreedom4racists When in any contemporary islamic society are Imams protecting followers? How can a woman not defend Islam? There are two definitions of Imam. One leads the prayer and the other is the head of society/state. Traditionally during the Prophet's time, Imam not only led the prayer but also was the head of the state during a dangerous time of political unrest. The contemporary Imam does not do this. Heck, even Bhutto was a female prime minister! Much more "dangerous" job than Imam!
