Makes sense that a person that wants to please God wouldn't take part in celebration that God condemns. But obviously its up to each individual conscious to make a choice for themselves and their family. Ultimately we get the results from our choices so choose wisely.

as i've grown older i stopped doing "trick or treat" (lol just 16) im quite religious and try to stay on the right path of islam. my main question of the idea is that when going out like for halloween, we have no intentions or even have any beliefs of the actual "ritual" or origin. and honestly, many people do it for that reason.. we don't do it because we're following its religious purpose and so on, but because it's just fun to go get candy from our neighbors lol. obviously if costumes are being worn, it should be appropriate (idk could be something dumb as being a tree or those full body pizza costumes) does that make sense.. same with small things like decorations for christmas, i find them pretty. i don't believe anything of the religious background of christmas, but yea things like the lights outside the trees and everything are just simply pretty lmao anyways, i only celebrate Islamic holidays/traditions, it's just simply opinions^
@mohamud603 жыл бұрын
I get what your trying arguing I see no harm in Halloween too in the sense going trick or treating as a kid or dressing up (none devil affiliated costumes) for a party with all your friends but Christmas is a big HELL NO even with the decorations since its basically a deity like celebration of prophet Jesus birthday
@afxxda3 жыл бұрын
@@mohamud60 lmao i don't celebrate anything w christmas or even decorate. i was just implying how the lights and certain things look really pretty not in a way where i'm admiring in the sense of religion but in general, like they give a warm/cozy vibe w the snow outside lol. but yea i just dont do it just in case if it is looked as something else than what i think of it as.

@Paradise Lover you are taking my intentions the wrong way, i dont believe in any origin of Halloween. also not to mention how Halloween is not even a holiday, there's gonna be people who dress up as the things you mentioned but my point is i'm not going to be going as anything that would be considered haram. my intentions have nothing to do w that. i barely go out and halloween just happens to be a day where everybody goes out to have fun with their friends nothing wrong as long as you go w the right intentions. it's not like I go to those party's w drinks and all. no, just harmless fun, i'm a hijabi.. I would be in shame to dress in something inappropriate or believe in anything foolish. but thank you brother/sister for speaking nicely. inshallah we can all be guided on the right path

Nice analysis. I have to disagree with the assessment of "trick or treat" as an extortion-like threat. It is asking instead, "give me a trick or give me a treat." In Mexico, this is mirrored in the holiday "Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead)" and children there say "Sucre o Muerta" [(give me) sugar or (give me) death)]. So, not a threat, but a question: "Did I fool you?" Expenditure-wise: Many costumes are homemade. Candy conflict: Some people give out fruit, popcorn, or coins instead.

@@leun6768 it is forbidden. Ibn ’Umar (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “He who imitates any people (in their actions) is considered to be one of them.” Related by Abu Dawud and Ibn Hibban graded it as Sahih. (4031). Bulugh al-Maram English reference : Book 16, Hadith 1514Arabic reference : Book 16, Hadith 1471 As I said before, we can have fun, partying and whatsoever with our non-muslim friends, as long as not imitating other religion celebration or activities and following the syariah. According to your logic, then it is okay to steal, its okay to eat pork, its okay to do sin against the Creator, because our heart is more important than obeying the Creator. You put your desire above the Creator. That's just plain ignorance.
