Part of my QXC (Qualifying Cross Country) Solo flight, from Fairoaks, which comprised landings at Lydd and Shoreham in the UK, this video shows the Overhead Join for Runway 03 at Lydd, which is a right-hand pattern.
I arrived at Lydd following on from an Overhead Transit over Biggin-Hill airport, reporting at Sevenoaks and then later at Tenterden for Lydd under a Lower Airspace Radar Service provided by Farnborough LARS East.
I am a fan of the nice large runway at Lydd (Ferryfield) aka London Ashford Airport. The Air Traffic Services staff at the tower were very helpful and it was a very enjoyable flight.
My QXC flight was planned with JamiesAviation E6BJA (E6B) Flight Computer (for Android). View and solve Wind Triangle problems, Wind Correction Angle, Wind Components, Top of Descent/Descent rate calculator, Pressure and Density Altitude, Fuel, Turn calculator, Take-off and Landing Distance calculator, and much more...
