For the conversion camp story; conversion 'therapy' I'd completely illegal in Canada because of how abusive it is. In some places it's considered torture. No one in Canada can provide conversion 'therapy' or take someone out of the country for it no matter the victims age. People who have gone through conversion therapy have extremely low live satisfaction outcomes and extremely high suicide rates. The father definitely did the right thing leaving and charging his wife.

As a bi woman in an roman catholic family, I thought that mom would send me to one of those camps, and hence I didn't come out to my parents until I met another woman who (I thought) loved me completely. Long story short, I was told to keep quiet about my relationship to everybody, and not say anything on facebook. However, my (now-ex) MIL was the subtle type, and due to her interference, we ended up divorcing after four years. For years, I was terrified that they would do that to me and I'm REALLY hoping that OP gets full custody and keeps his kids AWAY from her! (also counseling too)

If she can't happy for her son for discovering something new about himself, fine. No one can make her feel a certain away about it as she's entitled to her feelings. I sincerely hope for OP's sake, his son's sake, and his daughter's sake that they will never have to have anything to do with that woman ever again. On a side note, I do believe OP should have a sit-down with his daughter and explain to her that there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being gay, lesbian, bisexual, etc. And that it isn't a choice - nor a sin - and should NEVER be treated as such. I not sure if OP's wife has been going out of her way to feed BS about the LGBTQ+ community to the daughter or not, but... they should definitely have that talk. Just in case. The second story is 5/5 AHs. No question about it. I typically agree with you with an accuracy of about 0.5 to 1 points, but I will NOT budge on this half point.
