ঋণখেলাপিদের আইনের আওতায় আনতে কে কোন দলের তা বিবেচনা করা হবে না। সম্প্রতি এক সাক্ষাৎকারে এমন হুঁশিয়ারি দিলেন বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের নবনিযুক্ত গভর্নর ড. আহসান এইচ মনসুর। ঋণখেলাপির দেশীয় সম্পত্তি জব্দ করা হতে পারে বলেও সতর্ক করেছেন তিনি। ব্যাংকখাতকে রাজনৈতিক প্রভাবমুক্ত করতে সংস্কারের বার্তা দিলেন গভর্নর।

বাংলাদেশে, ঋণ খেলাপিরা খুব সুখে তাদের জীবন উপভোগ করে। তবে বিদেশে, ঋণ খেলাপি, গাড়ি ব্যবহার করতে পারে না, বিলাসবহুল বাড়িতে থাকতে পারে না, বিদেশে ভ্রমণ করতে পারে না, তারা ভাল খাবার কিনতে পারে না। তারা শহরের বাইরে গরিব ঘরে থাকে। ঋণদাতা/জনসাধারণের পুরো টাকা পরিশোধ না করা পর্যন্ত তাদের জীবন খুবই কঠিন।

Rather take Stern action against money launderer then People's confidence may raise. Any sensitive news can create panic and panic stricken people may rush into bank and withdraw money. As a result bank may face liquidity crisis. We know the fate of signature bank. Prepare a guide line about to punish willful defaulters. Strengthen recovery drive. Full autonomy of BB is essential.
