Saturday was unlike any other day for 75-year-old RB Sreekumar when the Ahmedabad Detection of Crime Branch came knocking on his doors in Gandhinagar and arrested the former Gujarat Director General of Police (DGP). The arrest on charges of forgery and criminal conspiracy came a day after the Supreme Court called into question his role in the petition against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Gujarat riots of 2002. The court was listening to a plea filed by Zakia Jafri challenging the SIT's clean chit to the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the 2002 Gujarat riots case. Sreekumar was arrested along with social activist Teesta Setalvad based on a complaint filed by an Ahmedabad crime branch official.

@@AnoopKammaran nambi naryanan was leading the cryogenic project that time..and he had some other reasons for his VRS which he had mentioned in the letter also..(quoted about the discussions happened in previous month's). so if this conspiracy issues had not happened then the project would have continued in his hands or if he had voluntarily retired , then in some one else's hands... but the waves of the issue actually lead the project to be dropped....

Last month, Sreekumar is arrested following a Supreme Court order. It will take years to get the final judgement in his court case. But prima facie, he is guilty, that is why he is arrested. There are seven persons alleged to be guilty in ISRO spy scandal and Vijayan, Cibi Mathews etc. all may also get arrested. Third degree methodes were used aginst Nambi Narayananan and those guilty should be punished. Nambi Narayanan had told that the police officers investigating the case did'nt know any thing about space research and they never knew the difference between a missile and a rocket. Such ignoramus peole were investigating the case.

Where official secrets act is involved, clearance from the highest level of government is to be obtained. State governments can never do this without specific clearance from the central governmnt. None of the investgating police officers have done this clearance and the whole operation was illegal. Supreme court rightly asked to initiate criminal proceedings against the seven police officers involved in this case. Sreekumar is in jail now.

Shri . P.V Narasimha Rao s visit to trivandrum during the last phase of isro espionage case and his son 's alleged relation to a contractor related to isro projects , role of two maldievian ladies , their diary details , their link to international underworld groups engaged in spying scientific research etc were crucial elements of isro espionage case. IB or RAW could not go deep in to the international dimensions of the case. The investigation team could not proceed beyond the two ladies. Political intervention was responsible for the closure of the case. No case can be fabricated 100%. I strongly believe that political compulsions ve played a crucial role in this case. Role of one or more foreign intelligence agencies can not be ruled out.

This has never been explained by Nambi ever. Narasimha Raos son was apparently involved , which resulted in the cbi director coming to Trivandrum and the very next the story changed that Nambi and sasikumar are innocent and the case gets transferred to cbi and is wiped out

He was a brilliant scientist and the head behind the Vikas engine as we all know and moreover HE DESERVES TO BE THE NEXT (THEN) CHAIRMAN OF ISRO. The VRS application dated November 1, 1994 says “Due to personal reasons I wish to seek voluntary retirement from ISRO.
