Cassandra was an oracle, who was cursed by one of the gods (I forget which, probably Athena.) To have perfect prophecies, but be seen as false by anyone she spoke to. Icarus was the son of Daedalus, the wing guy. Flew too high, broke his wings and fell to his death

Cassandra slept with Apollo to convince him to grant her the gift of prophecy but when he found out she didn't love him, he cursed her to never be believed. Cassandra was later taken by that asshole Agamemnon as a "war prize" but when she predicted that his wife, Clytemnestra (Helen of Sparta's twin half-sister), and her lover, Aegisthus, would kill them both in revenge for him either 1. sacrificing their daughter Iphigenia to the gods before the war and/or 2. killing her first husband, Tantalus (not the one who fed the gods his own sons - that was Agamemnon's ancestor), and forcing her to marry him. Agamemnon didn't believe Cassandra and so the two ended up dead.

15:00 They are indeed references to Greek mythology. A Herculean task references Hercules, who had to perform twelve seemingly-impossible tasks - but, strong and smart demigod that he was, managed to do them anyway. A Sisyphean task references Sisyphus, who was so evil he was condemned to roll a boulder up a hill in the afterlife - except it would always roll back down when he almost got it up, making it an endless task that is impossible to finish. The Icarian task references Icarus, who was imprisoned together with his father Daedalus but they escaped using wings made of wax and feathers. However, Icarus flew too close to the sun, his wings melted, and he crashed and died. The story doesn't agree with apollos-boyfriend, though, as the task was not impossible - Daedalus survived - and Icarus was just flying high because it was so much fun. The Cassandrean task references Cassandra. Apollo was hot for her, she accepted some gifts and then turned him down, so Apollo cursed her to always give true prophecies that nobody would believe her. For example: she warned about the Greek soldiers being in the Trojan horse, but wasn't believed, resulting in the downfall of Troy.

Suggestion: Persephonian Task: A task that you originally thought you would hate and despise only to find out that you are not only good at it, but surprisingly enjoy it. The take: Persephone was the daughter of Demeter and Hades fell in love with her. He proceeded to kidnap her to become his wife because this story happens in ancient Greece/Rome and that's just how things went back then. However, shockingly, not only did Persephone actually come to legitimately love Hades, she ruled over the underworld as his equal and, by all accounts, they had, by far and away, the healthiest marriage in Hellenistic mythology.

27:08 This brings out so much rage in me. Part of the reason I don't associate with my mom's family is how they consistently treat animals. My uncle had a dog they constantly kept chained outside next to its doghouse. And when I say constantly, I mean they literally couldn't remove its collar when it died *because it hadn't been removed once in several years*. My grandparents acquired this beautiful, well-behaved Boxer. Lovely dog, well trained, kind to literally everyone (dogs and people alike), just all around a perfect pet. However, they didn't want to keep it, as they felt they couldn't manage an animal of that size at their age. Reasonable. My grandmother was asking around the family for who could take it in, and my dad (who has sworn to not let another dog in our house), even offered to drive from 2 states over and pick it up; it was that good of a dog. My grandfather, on the other hand, decided it was taking too long to get rid of, and drove it a few miles out of town and just dumped it on the side of the road with a small bag of dogfood. This wasn't out of character for him, but it was a final straw for me. When we traveled for his funeral, I refused to attend the service. That dog deserved better than he ever did.

For the "Replace the grass with fake grass" thingy While it could be done, fake grass needs to be replaced every now and then (at best every 10 years but since golf courses have cars going around, it would be way less), and since its mostly made out of plastic, good luck trying to do something about the crap-ton of plastic grass that a golf field would use. This is ignoring that it tears over time wich means it might need replacement more often, and that it still needs to be cleaned so itll waste water either way. Also, it damages your soil which could lead to microplastics building up and causing the area to be infertile. Basically, artificial grass is just a worse idea. In fact, i just looked up what is it made of and i got this: "Artificial grass is made from polyethylene polypropylene or nylon (polyamide), and fragments from this material can make their way into the soil, and beyond, in the form of microplastic pollution. The shelf life for artificial grass is estimated to be 10-20 years and the product is difficult to reuse."

15:11 yeah, greek mythology herculean task: hercules was a super strong demigod and challenged to do things that seemed impossible but somehow did it (the only one i can remember is slaying a hydra-) so a herculean task is one that seems impossible/incredibly difficult (but you do/will manage it anyway) sisyphean: sisyphus was a guy who was punished by the gods for cheating death like twice(?) and forced to roll a boulder up a hill for eternity. as soon as the boulder got to the top of the hill it'd roll back down and he'd have to do it all over again. so a sisyphean task usually means a (often tedious) repetitive task that will never truly be finished (like laundry or dishes) icarian: icarus was a guy trapped in a prison above the labyrinth with his dad (daedelus) who made wings out of wax and feathers to escape. they worked but daedelus warned icarus not to fly too low so the ocean mist wouldn't get the wings soggy and too heavy, and not to fly too high to avoid melting the wax. however icarus started flying higher and higher because it was so much fun, and eventually flew too high that his dad's warning did come true and his wax wings melted and he plummeted and Died. cassandrean: a prophet cursed with having only true prophecies that nobody would listen to. ever.

15:00 greek mythology indeed. A Herculean task refers to an incredibly difficult task, as a reference to Hercules's twelve labors. A Sysiphean task refers to a endless task that is impossible to finish, as a reference to the story of Sysiphus, who was condemned to eternally push a large boulder up a mountain, only for it to roll right back down again when he reaches the top. Icarian refers to the story of Icarus, when escaping the labyrinth with his father Daedalus, he flew too high and the wax holding the wings together melted, causing him to fall to his death. Cassandrean reffers to Cassandra, a girl who the god apollo liked. When she turned down gifts from him, he got angry and cursed her to always have perfect prophecies, but no one takes them seriously or believes her. Id like to add the Orphean task. A task seemingly simple but you will likely fail at right before you complete it, as a reference to the tale of Orpheus, who went to the underworld to get his wife back. Hades let them go one the sole condition that he never look back to make sure shes following him for the entire journey out. He almost makes it, but looks back right before the end, causing his wife to fall back into the underworld for good.

15:02 you asked for references. SO. 1. Icarus was Daedalus’ young boy. Daedalus had just finished building the labyrinth that was to be used by king Minos to trap the Minotaur, but Minos, in his complete evilness, refused to let either of them out, laughing about how they’d need wings to ever leave. Daedalus thought about it and said “hey, that’s actually a pretty good idea” and made Icarus and himself wings, binding feathers to their arms using wax (the wax part is the only part we’re sure of in this scene, nowadays). Knowing how easily it’d melt, Daedalus warned Icarus never to fly too close to the sun and just stay low. They decided to take off after everything was ready, but, euphoric from the experience and completely oblivious to danger, Icarus flew higher and higher as his confidence grew. The sun eventually melted his wax and, to Daedalus’ horror, his son plummeted into the Mediterranean Sea. Daedalus, heartbroken at the knowledge that nothing could be done for him anymore, flew back home but never built anything again, in grief. 2. Cassandra was (I know less about this one) a woman that was cursed with foresight- but nobody would ever believe her warnings, and once the events foreseen happened, the people involved would always assume it was her fault. One day, she gets a terrible vision: Troy swarming with enemy soldiers, the doors wide open and a wooden horse between (sounds familiar?). Everyone assumed she was insane and made no preparations, heeded none of her warnings and, when the day came, paid no attention to a large, wheeled, wooden horse being “gifted” to them by their mortal enemy. As she foresaw, the Greeks flooded the city in the cover of night, crawling out of their statue and conquered the city. As for Cassandra, I think she might have died, either that or she was never seen again. (I just realized, Talon1124 already gave you the details. If you are reading this, talon, I had no idea you had already done this and did not mean to steal.)

Hercules/Heracles was a roman/greek demigod that was extremely strong. His myth revolves around completing several tasks, mainly through incredible feats of strength. So a herculean task is one that requires a great effort to complete. According to greek mythology sisyphus was a greek king that was punished after his death to forever roll a boulder up a hill. But each time the boulder would get kind of high up it would roll back down. So a sisyphean task is one that you know is kind of hopeless. Icarus was the son of a very smart engineer who was locked in a tower for mythological reasons. His father made them wings using wax so they could fly off and escape, and told him not to fly too high because the sun would melt them. But Icarus decided that it was probably fun to fly up so he did and his wings melted and he died. Cassandra was a priest and fortune teller that was cursed to never have anyone believe her, even though all her predictions were completely accurate.

8:10 - But that's so true. I've had so may people leave just horrible comments, and when I turn around and say something kind or wish them well with some sort of blessing, they suddenly stop responding. Heck, some of them even like the post. (Granted - I have gotten a few "snarky" comebacks from the people. I just ignore those.)

26:54 - this was an ATM down Suchiehall ("suck-ee-hall") Street (one of the high streets) in Glasgow, in an area of the street where people are leaving clubs and getting taxis (so basically you go into a taxi that's cash only, they drive you seconds down the road to this ATM, and you kinda feel pressured to use it, idk if they're colluding with the shop owner or it's a coincidence) I love the people of Glasgow, the city I call home. There was an incident in the past couple of years where a couple of guys were getting deported by the Home Office (reason: they hate immigrants) and someone posted on social media that the HO van had shown up, and asked people to come and surround the van to stop it leaving with the two men, within an hour or so the entire street was filled with people, the police created a line of officers around the van, and eventually had to give up and return the men to their flat, then the police and Home Office van were allowed to leave. Scotland also has some great history of community-lead activism basically ending the Thatcher government, as well as possibly the oldest history ever on fighting England

8:06 Yes. That is exactly what happens. Prices go way up. Even if the skill gains are marginal, it can still be 100% worthwhile for companies that size if a slightly better lawyer or slightly bigger army of lawyers saves you a few hundred million dollars just once.

More Greek mythology tasks! Bellerophonian task: take on something impossible out of sheer hubris, succeed, get punished by authorities Polyphemian task: eat so much that your only remaining choice is to eat yourself Apollonian task: aggressively pursue a romantic or sexual interest who is not interested Atalantan task: start a task, get distracted multiple times, realize that your sweetie has been doing this on purpose.

He's taken care of huge, overgrown patches of poison ivy, completely cleared and revealed overgrown sidewalks for safety's sake, completely redone a few peoples' backyards... he's got a pressurewashing channel, too. It's pretty amazing.

15:11 you hit the nail on the head there, they're all references to Greek mythology. A Herculean task is incredibly difficult or impossible to surmount, like the tasks Hercules was given were supposed to be. A sisyphean task is monotonous, boring, and neverending, as is sisyphus's punishment for having attempted to outplay the gods so often. Icarus had his dad make wings out of wax to escape a prison but flew too close to the sun so the wings melted and he died (hence having fun with a task you know you'll fail anyway) and Cassandra is an Oracle (a person of prophecy) who was doomed to basically have no one ever believe her words.
