Well in true sense religion really means only that - your soul. That is our Dharma - to know ourselves, not some sect following... If we are away from ourselves, how can we be happy?
@mr.l85273 ай бұрын
If you listen to the lyrics, the song is about unrequited love. Personally, I believe this song is personal to the singer. He's gay and at the time this song was written, it was still taboo. I think he's singing about a man he was in love with but couldn't bring himself to confess it. This song was that confession. Listen to the lyrics.

When I was little, my old man and I were driving from New Brunswick to Ontario. I had fallen asleep, but woke up as we were going through Montreal. Coming from a town of 1500 people, seeing all the city lights was fascinating. (I was 6 or 7). This song was on the radio and I’ve always held that memory close with this song. As I’ve gotten older I find myself relating to the song a lot more, and looking back, I wonder if my Pops did too. Parents divorced about a year after the trip, and though him and I aren’t as close, this song, and Nirvana’s “Nevermind” are two albums that we have always stayed connected on. Sorry for the ramble, just felt like needing to share…somewhere. Peace and Love to all of you❤️🙏

They didn't play music when we were in transit, but that would have been amazing. I remember the first time in charge of quarters. I got to sit in a chair for the first time in the process, it was the best feeling I'd had in months. Thought about the pleasure of something so simple.

Trying to get someone back who doesn't love you anymore. "I thought I said too much - I haven't said enough" over-pleading your heart out to no avail, then afterwards thinking if I just said more. Spotlight (them) corner (you). I thought that I heard you laughing (I think I'm getting through) I thought I heard you try (I think you want me?) No it was just a dream. And I'm spending every waking hour thinking of you, like a hurt lost and lonely fool.

Good catch - it's about near-obsessive love for a woman who doesn't feel the same. He's at the end of his rope ("losing his religion") looking for a reaction that's not and is never going to be there.
