This is my dad’s favorite song, he’s such a private man. He has always been such a fantastic dad to me though, questionable husband but he’s never ever done me wrong. He went to every choir concert I’ve had, went to all my parent teacher conferences etc. this man doesn’t even know how to read and it breaks my heart. His mama pulled him from school in the 5th grade. He worked so hard for my family and woke up at 4-5 am for us and never complained. He’s such a private person too, a man of few words. When he painted my room my fave color without hesitation, he told me this was his favorite song and I always remembered it since he shares such few things w me. He’s been in over 7 houses sleeping in hammocks without a bed and without parents. I admire my papi sooo fuckin much. He’s fr such a good dad and to know he grew up without love hurts me sm bc all I ever known was love from him. for this to be his favorite song l hurts me so much but I’m so happy he shared it w me. I imagine he thinks abt my mom’s high standards and unrequited love towards him. Sorry to anyone reading this. I have nowhere to let it out but this song is a blessing and pain feeling sensation all at once. I love my dad w all my heart and I hope he finds peace soon. This song is my dad song, and therefore it’s mine now. Slowly learning him and his emotions through his music. He’s super old now and won’t leave my mom since she has a lot of health issues and even though he’s unhappy he stays for our family and her. My dad deserves sm more and it’s a diff type of hurt when you know your parents will pass on unhappy, without their dreams completed. I pray to god everyday for his happiness knowing it won’t come.
