r/Entitledparents In today's story, OP's aunt is an insane entitled woman who care about her social standing more than anything else. So when OP's aunt sees that a family member gave birth to a more beautiful child (in her opinion), the aunt actually tries to trade babies! She argues that she deserves the prettier baby because their family is richer, so they can give the child a better life. If you like this video and want to see more, hit the subscribe button.

It's on an equal level of ignorance as believing that racism can only be a one-way thing. A perfect example is the continuous race war between lower-class black people and the upper-class whites in the US, and even the global superpowers against the middle-eastern countries for the past decades. The problem is that any single racially motivated hate crime will trigger a wildfire of racism when words get out, and people are always quick to judge because of the stereotypes that has been painted up from years of biased propaganda. It is the reason why mainstream media can't be trusted fully, and that a lot of fact-based analyses are being shot down if it doesn't match the narrative or warped world-view of those who buy everything that makes it to the news headlines. As long as the popular news sources are controlled by political agendas, hate will thrive.

When I came out to my parents as a teenager that I was bi, they just told me “You’ll grow out of it. It’s just a phase.” I needed up dating girls a while after that, but to this day my parents still don’t believe me. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I stopped going to them about anything personal because I know they’ll just pull the “It’s all in your head.” card.

Whenever I hear these stories about blood family cutting off a child because they are "different" I always tell them this quote. “The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof.” ― Richard Bach, Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah

I agree that according to scripture/published religious works don't usually advocate disowning your child for thinking differently, but unfortunately, that isn't necessarily what some Christians actually believe is right. Some believe that any potential threat to their faith (such as having an atheist your life) is something to avoid since someone's faith in God is the most important thing. It's just such shitty selfish thinking. That's not what their God wants for them or their child.

The JJ one is sad, apart from the awesome wedding. My brother knows someone whose mother used to be supportive of him and his partner, but his brother was in a very bad accident which resulted in a permanently disabling injury and the mother, and brother, became very religious and very unsupportive of him. I'm not sure how (or why), but he's managed to maintain a strained relationship with them for the past 20 years (he's honestly a saint). But worse yet, they've become anti-vaccine and say they won't be getting the Covid-19 vaccine even though they both really should because of her age and the brother's health. A cousin of mine (not first cousins, the connection is a bit more distant) was married to a secular Indonesian Muslim. He was really nice and when my cousin brought him to meet my grandma she really liked him. But back in Indonesia, there was a horrible car accident and the majority of the women in his family died :( He then became very, very religious and I don't know the details, but yeah, that ended the marriage. It's really sad, they seemed like a happy couple and my grandmother never threw away the picture she took of him. Only lucky thing is they didn't have children together yet. But yay religion, offering comfort in tragedy and...ruining relationships since time immemorial?

My grandmother's husband, let's call him Jr. (even though he was technically our step grandfather, all the grandchildren adored him and he was immediately just considered beloved family) once asked me why my younger sister never had boyfriends). I told him I didn't know, maybe she watched the mistakes my sister and I made with boyfriends and decided to wait to date until she was an adult. Jr. was a Baptist minister before he retired. We all went to his sermons on Sundays we spent with our grandmother. He then told me to tell my younger sister if she was worried about people judging her for who she wanted to date, for me to tell her if that person was good enough for her to love, then he would love them as well, no matter who they are.". He didn't want to come right out and accuse her of being gay. I hugged him and let him know I would pass this message on to her when it became relevant. My sister is gay, but Jr. died before he could meet the wonderful, smart, kind woman my sister would marry. My sister was concerned about what our family would think of her getting married to a woman, so I passed the message along. We all cried and hugged, then toasted Jr. a bottle of wine, while telling funny stories about him. This is the family I wished everyone had, because everyone deserves it.

THIS. My parents told me I was too young to know what bisexuality was and that bisexuality doesn’t exist and that I was straight and I believed it for 3 years. I’m 17 and this happened at 13-14. I tried dating guys and then kept catching feelings for girls (like close friends and random girls in school) instead and that’s how I figured out I was a lesbian. I feel like it was so obvious when I was a kid: I made my girl dolls kiss all the time (I had boy dolls too!!), was always ridiculously afraid of guys, always flirted with girls and always had crushes on girls on tv. But no I apparently can’t possibly be one because I’m not butch and because I’m super girly. Apparently that = straight? Fuck nah. I always kinda knew.

Too damn true. Decided when I was pretty young I didn't want any kids (can't remember my reasoning), and everyone was quick to spout you-know-what. Adult (young, mind you) now, and though I'm no longer 100% on that, spending time with my sisters' kids makes me reluctant to have my own still, and probably only one if I do change my mind. Yet I still get told I'm "too young to decide" if I ever say that. Also semi-closeted ace and perfectly willing to die a virgin, so little to no chance of a slip-up. Positive I'd get pestered if I told my family about that, too.

10:59 “Luckily dissociation doesn’t include kicking your child out.” I- I’m a Jehovah’s Witness and have been sense I was born into it, and I can vouch and say this woman is telling the truth. I’m bisexual, but I’m so afraid to come out to my family for this exact reason, and I’m 18 so I was worried I’d be kicked out of the house. I heard you have to be baptized in order for the church to disfellowship you (when the entire church avoids you), but I’m not baptized so I don’t know if my family will still avoid me or if I can actually be disfellowshipped. I do believe in god but I don’t like that it’s constantly put on my shoulders for me to learn about and act like I won’t ever sin. So I don’t know what to do with wanting/hoping to find a partner (wether their male, female, etc) without my family disowning/ignoring me.

Yeah but everything else seems like a fabrication The weird this is that Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t usually asking questions like that. “Are you dating someone?” That kinda talk is actually discouraged and labelled as gossip. They have made MANY publications, brochures and videos on the matte, including gossiping about former witnesses which is a HUGE taboo. Jehovah’s Witnesses also never ever say the word church. And setting people up ?? that’s kind of an unspoken rule that generally every member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, instinctively know NOT to do. Because dating is considered very personal. And doing it, while the kids are still, a teenager would definitely be looked down upon. It is taught as a personal choice to date. And if a boy of a girl are both ceremoniously dedicated to Jehovah, then them choosing to date each other, would not be frowned upon. But if you didn’t choose to be baptised and are still unbaptised then literally no one should be expecting you to date! It’s sometimes considered irresponsible! So if these people *_are_* doing then she should’ve talked to the elders about it, if her repeated attempts to convey to her family, that she is not interested in dating are being met with deaf ears. They also don’t believe that being gay is a choice.

When my kid came out, i didnt care who she loved as long as she had love. Gender didnt bother me. Love a woman love a man, who cares. Obviously MY family did. We cut them ALL out of our lives. 15 years on, we still do not talk. Im fine with it. They can get bent. My kid means much more than those homophobes.

Yeah, so, your kid is shiny, and I’ve hatched 100 eggs and haven’t even got a kid with its hidden ability. Could we trade? This is how the first story feels

4:32 lol "don't you want to give your daughter a better life?" Lol by that logic, the woman is also forcing a worse life upon her daughter in exchange for the other daughter that "will get a better life" 😆

Man, the gay wedding story was *WACK AF* . how *THE HELL* can anyone treat their own flesh and blood like that?! And then have *THE NERVE* to ask for anything from them. I am appalled and disgusted to levels I didnt even knew I could be at.

"You don't get to have any privacy from your mother!" Oh, god. That gave me flashbacks to how my parents never even let me close my door even after I hit eighteen because I "didn't need to close my door unless I was hiding something".

Literally the same mentality as "only people who are hiding something are anonymous online" or ANYTHING when it comes to wanting to keep your privacy safe, it's because of *these people* that we *have to* use a VPN just have some form of privacy security and even then that's not full-proof.

It would have been funny to randomly yell "if you guys don't mind, I'm gonna masturbate and since I have nothing to hide I don't have to close the door"

I lived at home as a poor university student paying my own way for tuition and books, didn't move out of my parent's house until I was 25. Even at age 25, they insisted I keep my door open at all times. I had a fight with them one day and tried to close and lock my door, demanding some privacy since I was an adult... When I came home from classes the next day, my door had been completely removed. Moved out as soon as I had my degree and a decent job where I could afford the rent.

I would definitely have started fapping right at the dinner table. Nothing to hide, so no need to go to my room anyway, right? And of course waiting until my parents were having.. intimate hugging.. then sit on the edge of their bed. Nothing to hide, right?
