I had something similar happen, but with a bad mother - traded a kid at school; my golden gameboy (was one of the first to shift away to black and white instead of that weird green screen the originals had) for his first gen gameboy colour (I added a few games he really wanted and he was the one who asked ME to trade in the first place, so it's not like I was taking advantage of him in any way.) Cue a week later, I'm called to the school office on suspicion of thievery. Turns out his mother found out and basically decided I had bullied her kid or something and stolen his new gameboy. Thankfully, I avoided the charges and we ended up resolving it all by just swapping back, but I was just pissed because he erased all my game data and I had to start again ;_;
