Finally a new kelliot episode so I don't have to listen to my own thoughts for 1 hour

Hey kelliot, I would actually love to hear you guys discuss adobe as a company, especially with all the recent controversies with them getting sued and a lot of designers dropping them completely and looking for alternatives. Would be interesting to hear your perspective

everytime you guys do the intro " i'm kell", " and i'm elliot" i predict the next sentence will be "and we are kelliot"

I've been watching this podcast for a week now and it's wonderful. It not only helps me with my mental state but helps me with many design decisions in my career.❤

cant believe it's already been eight weeks!!!! guys, this podcast it literally the best thing happened in my design life this summer. it's blessing. truly. been having so much fun working on commissions and listening to both of you yap and having fun so warm and fun and wholesome and nice and cool and good and cozy.... :))))) since january this year wasn't felling good about designing just for fun (im so glad all kelliot heads know what im talking about), but this pod kinda got me back on track and today i did some designing for myself (for my little funny silly project) so yeah! WE ALL ARE SO BACK. hope y'all have a wonderful day, 'cause i do (watched new kelliot episode) love ya :)))))))

this is so sweet, thank you so much! i’m so so glad are enjoying it as much as we have been making it. it’s so gratifying to have discussions around design that are approachable and welcoming. design can be a profession that can be both isolating and one that’ll drive you crazy. we need each other! thanks so much for joining our yap sessions every week.

I posted a logo I made for myself a while back on r/graphic_design and I made the cardinal sin of putting a background/extra details to make the logo itself look good and one guy came out of nowhere just saying it was amateurish, even after I made it clear that I wasn't going to use the whole image I posted, and just the logo itself. And the funny thing is, I eventually was able to pry some ACTUAL criticism out of that guy (after he pulled a "erm, I'll give you criticism if you can take it without getting mad -_-" as if he sent any remotely valuable criticism before) which genuinely improved the design. Believe it or not not all criticism is equally valuable

You guuuuyss! This episode was so good! Especially loved the convo near the edit. Such a bummer there’s so many miserable people out there who are missing out on feeling joy and excitement for new things 🫠

I remember one time i posted a question about illustrator as a complete beginner, and to my surprise ppl in the comments started making fun of me and asking if i was a troll. I genuine felt bad at the time and i still dont understand how a wonderful thing like graphic design can have such a toxic community

16:00 You should try more lightweight moisturizers! Water creams are a nice start. Typically face moisturizers are different than your body moisturizers. Avoid any type of fragrance in moisturizers as they can irritate. Also moisturizers don't contribute to your skin being more oily. If you have oily skin, just clean your face 2 times a day

As for mac woes and last resort. - you'll be able to YT how to extract harddrive out of the iMac and place it in an external enclosure (get one with decent transfer speed) so it boots like a USB. Then transfer the essentials/presets back. Did the same for a super old iMac from 2009.

At 54:35 Kel so eloquently put "Unwarranted criticism is harassment" and pretty much summed up the pitfalls of comments on the internet and the *actual point of critique and how to assess where to find great feedback* Love it! Weirdly my favorite moisturizer is Cetaphil (and I've tried a lot) and then Olay night cream. I'm also not into a lot of moisturizers textures. Does anyone have any recommendations because I'm always down to try new skin care stuff

I don't really write comments much but the discussion about 'positive' focused feedback (or at least balanced negative/positive feedback) really resonated with me. Sadly I'm struggling to find a space to get this sort of feedback in an online space as I'm not exactly surrounded by design heads irl and I'm a bit scared to put my work up for it to get roasted. Does anyone know where would be good for this?
