I was deployed in Afghanistan when he came to sing for us soldiers; I will always love and respect him for that. He, unfortunately, had himself a little scare when the sirens went off but he still came back on stage after we had the all clear. Not to mention, that smile of his always made my heart skip a beat. BTW one of my favorites of Toby's is, As Good as I Once Was, please try to react to it. Rest in power, Toby, you will forever be missed; may God continue to bless his entire family. Take care everyone and stay safe.

I can't name a single Toby Keith song. It's not my style of music. But I hate hearing about someone dying of cancer. I've been battling cancer since 2020 and fighting it is really tough. I've had chemo, radiation, and a stem cell transplant, so I know some of what he had to deal with. He fought the good fight. Rest in peace Toby.

Mine was just a 6-8 month inconvenience since they haven't identified that it spread (compared to stomach cancer which is horrible). I wish you the most success possible in your unfortunate journey. I wish Toby and his family the best in his journey onwards and their journey towards healing and coping. Cancer sucks. Peace, Love!!

When I went to OU, I can remember every football game seeing Toby on the sidelines. Now, living here again, I can tell you he still went to every OU football game and basketball game. He gave millions of his own money to the tornado victims in 1999 and 2013 and as Jay said, we love going to his restaurant in Bricktown. He will be missed. I wish I had seen this yesterday, we woudl have come down to Moore to the water tower next to I-35. But he was a class act and he did a Channel 9 local news story that you should see. He looked bad, but he still did some shows in Vegas like a few weeks ago. It's sad and will miss him! I love this bar!!! Red White and Blue....never will forget him!

The first concert I ever went to was Country USA in Wisconsin and it had to be around 98-99. The headline trio that night was Montgomery Gentry, Toby Keith, and Sawyer Brown. I was so excited to watch Toby perform. Later in life I spent around 5 years living in the OKC metro and still love the area to this day.

Thank you so much for this touching tribute. I grew up in Clinton, Burns Flat, and Stillwater Oklahoma (among other places) and feel a great kinship with the state though I've live in California many decades now. My relatives live in Del City and Guymon. My wife and I have heard of Toby Keith but never really listened to his music - until your tribute to him came out. We've spent the last few weeks listening to his vast collection of music and I can really feel his authenticity and Oklahoma vibe come through. What really does me in, though, is his rendition of "Don't Let The Old Man In" during the 2023 People's Choice Awards. What a talent that man had. He stayed true to his morals, his state, and his country to the very end. I'm with you Toby.

He was always on the sidelines at Sooner football games, was at Patty's Party Porch at the softball field usually with Barry Switzer and Bob Stoops. Toby was on the front row at the LNC for both men's and women's basketball. Toby was OUr guy and he was just a face in the crowd; no rock star, Hollywood fakery, Toby never changed from when he was in high school working as a concession vendor walking the stairs at the ball park selling popcorn . @@richardrodriguez2120 I stopped listening to country by the early 2000’s. Started sounding more like pop.

@@richardrodriguez2120 I haven’t heard their music. I literally stopped listening to country. 🤣 I listen to 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s pop, rock, and country.

I think of that song Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes? Toby stood on the shoulders of many of country music's great pioneers but make no mistake there are new, up and coming CM artists today standing on his big shoulders and rightly so. If you believe in forever then life is just a one night stand ❤

Rest In Peace, Toby Keith. I always low key loved this man for many of the reasons you two said. Seemed to be a very nice, funny and self depreciating guy. He wasn't afraid to look goofy. Great singer. My favorite song is the same as Amber's.

Listen to TOBY KEITH's DON"T LET THE OLD MAN IN....will bring a tear. Clint Eastwood was his golf buddy. He asked Clint how he stayed so young and active. Clint said, "don't let the old man in"...TOBY wrote a song called Don't Let The Old Man IN....the only place I ever heard it played was at the end of Clint's last movie they played this song as the credits rolled at the end. THIS WILL BE THE GREATEST TOBY SONG YOU WILL EVER HEAR. He sung it at the People's Choice Awards 4 months ago and he was already wasted and thin.....so get the TOBY KEITH DON"T LET THE OLD MAN IN PEOPLE"s CHOICE AWARDS. IT HAS THE LYRICS. IT WILL BE YOUR FAVORITE TOBY SONG and you will play it again and again. I GUARANTEE...THE WORDS ARE INCREDIBLE AND SO APRO PO TO HIS SINGING IT AS HE WAS DYING.....

The Red Solo Cup has been "THE" mainstay of every party I've been to.?for DECADES!! Keg parties in the woods, graduation parties, every open BBQ, block parties, and Philly favorites.."Beef & Beers"! When toby released this song I was so happy that someone had finally made a song as a tribute to our favorite party friend... ♥️ I was saddened to heard the news of his passing. But his "hometown Charm" and his "everyday man" music will keep his spirit alive for decades to come. Plus, as a veteran... 💔... Toby is up there with the GREATS, like Gary Sinise and Kid Rock, in the love and support of our troops amd America 🇺🇸 ⛪ ♥️
