As an adoptive parent it boggles my mind the hoops we had to jump through, including proving we had a bedroom, with a door, for our child, before we could even start the process. Not to mention police checks, medical exams, letters from our bank to prove we had money in the bank, letters from our employers and having to take numerous courses on parenting. I don’t begrudge us having to do that stuff, but the fact that if I had been able to physically have a child I could have six kids sleeping in my living room no problem is mind boggling
@waffles3629Ай бұрын
Yep, as someone who will hopefully be able to adopt in the future, the amount of hoops you have to go through is a marathon, though I do agree for the most part they are reasonable (I have heard of some ridiculous ones, like requiring a full bathroom for every child, or a minimum of four windows in every room in the home). And yet two random people can just make a baby with no checks whatsoever. Obviously there's no such thing as a perfect parent, but just because someone can make a baby doesn't mean they should. I can understand people falling on hard times and having to make do the best they can, but that is definitely not begging for money on TikTok so you can keep having more babies when you can't afford the kids you already have.
@oldskewelАй бұрын
Totally agree. When parents complain about people judging their behaviors or groan at the realities of parenting I'm always the first to remind them that their only qualifications were to bang - and nothing else. Fun fact! Depending on where you live, passport, driver's licenses and ID cards are considered government property. Destroying them means you get a felony, possibly even jail time! So Mr "Dad of the year I am withholding your passport from you my child" can get into big trouble if he actually does destroy the passport. Considering he also has admitted to planning on doing that via text messages, that case would be closed so fast it might also get a speeding ticket.

That stuff is why I don’t believe in fate or “everything is meant to be” crap, f that, it’s always the worst people who get kids they don’t deserve.
@durabelleАй бұрын
@@RookieAssassinThat's a good question! I honestly believe it's not a complete coincidence that the irresponsible people are so often the most fertile. For one, they often start quite young, whereas more responsible parents wait until their life situation is more stable, which can these days take a long time. Secondly the more responsible parents listen to all the recommendations and usually wait at least a couple of years between each pregnancy, effectively causing the number of children to stay lower. Thirdly the responsible parents think ahead and stop making babies before they have too many to raise well by their own higher standards. In the meanwhile the irresponsible people keep churning out babies as if there's no tomorrow. I'm not saying it's impossible to have a big family and still be a responsible parent, but it's quite rare to want that, and we don't hear horror stories about them even when that happens. It's also possible to be totally irresponsible and infertile, but again we won't hear about those cases since they don't become parents. So it really feels like the most irresponsible and horrendous parents are also the most fertile ones.

I'm not 100% sure what happened as after that, the teen had to transfer to a new location as they, and their younger sibling, were put into foster care in an entirely different county. That's humans. When someone has the urge to have a baby, they're going to do their damnedest to have a baby, and whether they can afford it is not a thing their brain is going to process. Our brains evolved over hundreds of thousands of years and money is a very new phenomenon. In a civilised country they would have enough income to feed and house the kids with dignity because it's not the kids' fault the parents are like that. Also, they'd be likely to be referred to financial counselling and parenthood training - the amount of parenthood skills training I was given as a young welfare-dependent single mother felt like a lot at the time, but it really does help.

This took me forever to realize, too, but bottom line: Someone is threatening to unlawfully deprive you of your property. In this case, the property at issue makes it way worse -- it's a federal document that has its own unique protections. You don't need to call SWAT or whatever, but if it were me, I'd think it's probably appropriate to call the non-emergency line wherever dad lives and explain what's going on, particularly what it would do to my internship if he follows through. Heck, I'd offer to email them screenshots of the texts if they were in another area. (NLA; IANAL)

I worked as an infant day care provider for several years. From time to time, mostly young couples, expecting or with a wee one in an infant carrier, would come in, approving of our carefully organized, well planned-out room, and often, the baby would later be enrolled. Once, though, it was a grandma, alone… she had allowed her son, his girlfriend, and their baby boy to move into her home, but both her son and his girlfriend were using, and she was afraid she’d have to kick them out and keep her grandson out of concern for the innocent baby, but she and her husband would still have to work and would therefore need childcare… it was the only one of these tours that was NOT happy, nor was the arrival of the little boy to our room a few months later, after the grandparents kicked the parents out… it’s gross to think of a grandma practically salivating over that tragic prospect occurring… 🤢

By the way, being a “fusional” “possessive” “over protective” or “best friend” parent is often seen in incestual/incestuous families. Because if you do not consider that your child is a person of their own / do not accept their boundaries / do not keep your place as a parent and act in a way that confuse the roles and the ages in the family / put the responsibility of your own parents, friends, partner or psychiatrist on your child (counting on them for your own emotional, physical, psychological, financial and/or mental security, when you are the one that’s supposed to be the garant of security and not the other way around) / do not put boundaries between your intimacy and theirs (talking about your intimacy with your children, asking intrusive questions about their intimacy, refusing boundaries about intimacy or their bodies, refusing when they stop wanting you to wash them or kiss them on the lips or touch them a certain way or taking baths together or being naked on their presence etc etc)… you can see how it can very easily creeps its way into dangerous territories. And even if it’s never physical, never cross that line, incestuous relationships can still be awfully destructive for a child and it’s sometimes even harder for them to pinpoint why they are in pain because “nothing really happened”. Also parents that are like that often have narcissistic, authoritarian/ abusive, unstable tendencies. Please respect your children as their own persons, not as an object or an extension of yourself.

This subreddit makes me concerned because some of the situations on there have happened to me, but majority of them are more extreme, so I wonder if I'm just overreacting.

It made me realize my parents are the "nice" insane, because while they did cause us some trauma and kinda treated us like cattle most of the times, at least they never hurt us or threatened to throw us in the street... still far from acceptable, but hey, at least I know what to never do when I become a parent. Learning from their mistakes

Holy sh*t I hope someone is calling CPS on the crazy woman with 6 kids in one room. Absolutely unfit and unhinged! 😬

Elon's mom and the entire Daily Wire crew must be so proud of that woman who wants to have 7 children in spite of only living in a single bedroom appartment....

Yep. Reminds me of the time my egg donor punished me for refusing to take responsibility for something she had done, and when she accidentally admitted she'd done it, upheld the punishment because I'd "refused to take responsibility for your actions". The punishment? Not being allowed to go to an event I'd paid for, and just to rub salt in the wound, I was forced to pay my spawn points "back" for missing it. Yeah, it's not "back" when they didn't pay for it in the first place. An entire year of chore and gift money down the drain or stolen by my spawn points, all because an adult threw a temper tantrum because a 14 year old refused to take responsibility for the adults actions. Yeah, my spawn points have no idea why we aren't close.

I'm German and I was so confused rn when you were speaking English, because, like it's my mother tongue and I was like 'wait a minute, that's not the language he normally speaks. _right?_'

Yeah, same. And it is not the first time. It is even worse if they do it in the middle of a film, show or book. Like watching "Grimm" although there you get used to it pretty quickly. I also had this confusing moment in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows when Voldi kills the German woman and kids. Only when she answers in broken English I realised oh wait... On the other hand there are these funny moments when you watch an English show and you understand everything except when someone starts speaking German. I had to grap the subs for American Horror Story Freaks because I had no idea what the Nazis were saying/shouting.

@@unschuldshascherl yeah, I watched that movie w/ my best friend, we both looked at each other and just stared at the TV screen for a minute, she asked, in the most confused voice I've ever heard, ''are we watching this movie in German?''

4:36 if that's the same family as a previous video I've seen, I'm pretty sure the kids sleep in the kitchen while the parents sleep in the bedroom.
@alexiell10Ай бұрын
I believe that this is exactly the family you think about. The 6(?) kids are all sleeping on the floor (they dont have beds or even regular mattresses) on I believe some bed toppers, the parents (they are blended family and some kids have other parents involved) have their own bedroom with huge tv and ps5. Mother wants to be tik tok famous with family channel (aka children exploitation channel) and get rich from that and is working part time(?), father doesnt have a regular job because he is avoiding child support. This is basically 8 Passengers & Ruby Franke 2.0 in the making. Not sharing their credentials though because I dont want to send any traffic their direction

@@alexiell10 Those poor kids. They don't even get mattresses? And she's having MORE children????
@alexiell10Ай бұрын
@ImJustJorts in one of the tiktoks from her they said that kids HAD mattresses but they damaged it somehow (I don't remember if the soiled it or torn the cover) and "parents" figured it is cheaper with toppers.

Hey Click! I am fully aware you do not celebrate American Thanksgiving, that would be... a hilarious thing to assume, honestly. But I wanted to be thankful anyways, because I really am grateful for people like you! Your energy is always something that brings a smile to my face whenever I see your videos. Not only that, but you always have a thoughtful response and well formulated comment on even the most touchy subjects. You're super empathetic and understanding and seem like someone who always has great advice, no matter the situation. I appreciate you for making fun of the insane people that deserve it, and giving such valuable feedback and advice to people that may not even hear it. Thank you, Click! I hope you never change!

I've been saying for a whole now, that respect is a spectrum and I find that very often the people who demand the higher end of it can barely scrape together enough decency to treat others with the lower end of it.
