Athaavathu 1000 th film relased in theatre is thaarai thappattai..But actually 1300 plus Movie is thaarai thappattai..including unreleased Movies.. Viduthalai is 1500th film..it is included un relased Movies.. 300 plus Movies not released to theatre..But he composed the music..

Did you realize he has directed only 3 movies so far?! Maestro Ilayaraja has worked with ALL the top-notch directors: Balu Mahendra, Mahendran, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, K. Vishwanath, K. Balachander, Bharathiraja, Sridhar, Mani Ratnam, Bharathan, Fazil, Sathyan Anthikad, Bala, Mysskin, Vetrimaaran etc. Pidhatruvadhu endru mudivu eduththu vittal, at least, konjam sensible-aaga pidhatravum!
