Alas was the 1st rapper in Kasmala. He came from Mindanao too like Ken of SB19. They both share the same mother toungue(Bisaya). As you noticed Alamat is a multi languange Group. each member came from a different region in the Philippines. Their outfit is also a modern representation of our traditional costumes. He has a good, young voice with twangy accent. ALAS of Davao The main rapper. Their vocal coach encouraged him to sing. He is also fast in learning how to dance. Just like Valfer, they both have a rock lazy yet aggressive voice but Alas is deeper. The manliest vocal. TANEO of Ilocos The 2nd best dancer. He is a rapper but he is learning to sing too. Oh my the song is a revival of "Porque" originally sang by a girl. -- it's tagalog and chavacano (old spanish). You should listen to the original. It's pure chavacano. They have a pure tagalog too.

Finally you discovered Alamat ♥️ Some facts about them that cant be seen or hear when you dont know. They are diverse 8 member group coming from different local ethnicities. Each of their original songs are divided into 7 languages. As their brand and advocacy in purpose they mix in traditional native/ethnic cultures with modern contemporary from the music,dance and fashion which makes them unique and set themselves apart from other local boy groups. For Porque its a remake of the popular original chavacano song in mid 2000s from Zamboanga. They didnt change the lyrics to their own languages but follows the chavacano-tagalog version of the original singer.

We have hundreds of languages in the Philippines. 'porque' is sung in Tagalog and Chavacano. 'kasmala' is sung in 7 languages - Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilocano, etc. Members can speak the language from the province where they came from. The 'kasmala' MV has a very deep meaning. Ah-las R-Gee Ta-ne-yoh Jah-w Gah-mi Valfer, Mo, and Tomas are just as is hehe For the context of kasmala's music video, the clips were reenactments [not sure if that's the right world but you get what I mean] of the American colonization pre-WW2 where Filipinos had their share of discrimination [e.g. a tribe was exported as circus "freaks" who ate dogs, whitewashing, male prostitution. Pretty heavy stuff tbh] There is a twitter feed showing the actual pictures but I can't find it. Ok that's it I'm out
