【二米炊烟】Wild Vegetables. Cook Leaves and Fungus Grown on the Ground?!

It has been rainy recently, all kinds of wild plants and weeds in the mountains began to grow wildly. I picked up some ingredients casually while shedding the sheep: there are plantain, bitter hemp, palm tree flower, ground fungus, watercress, and some leaves.
Then I had a great dinner with my family.

山裡的各種的野菜野草開始瘋長
趁着放羊的時候，隨便采了一籃子
有車前草，苦麻菜，棕樹花，地木耳，水芹菜還有臭黃荊樹葉
一家人又美美的吃了一頓

You can see the love in this family. Every time the Grandmother look at the Grandson there is a beaming smile on her face. I would dearly love to spend time with this family and learn how to live off the land and to cook proper food like they are eating.

I grew up on a small pacific island and we had that fungus growing on the ground. I had no idea you could actually eat it. Most EXCELLENT!!

What I've eaten growing wild are dandelions, cattail, watercress, fennel, mustard greens and cactus. I have also eaten rattlesnake. I just bought a book that identifies food that grows wild around the US. My nephew used to gather mushrooms in the forest around Portland and sell them to restaurants. I have been eating various greens lately, like beet greens, mustard greens, collard greens and turnip greens. I ate some rapini the other day for the first time. The price is right for wild food, especially with inflation setting in. If you take a plant from the wild, plant two more in its place.
