What the person said is that the do not esteem them as higher (superior) which I agree with aswell. We were chosen to recieve the Torah and fulfill its commandments in order to be a light onto the peoples. That is what makes us "the chosen people". As a Jew, I'm greatful for this. I personally just want to be rid of bills. I have always believed in helping others. I just would like to be able to do more like I once was. Trusting the wrong man, and losing myself gas cost me much. In 2012, I owned a truck, car, 2 houses, and no debt.... I wish that was the same now. Now I owe so much money. Around 200,000 and only one has, still only one car and truck, and 20,000 in credit card debt. I'm out of the bad marriage now, but I struggle financially. I also raise my autistic adult daughter and help take care of elderly father. We had to put my mom in a home.

I run a " soup" kitchen at the Church cooking sour porridge for everyone in Church now it's been 2 years and have adopted 10 ladies who are at tertiary as well as +- 4 gentlemen, they too are post matrix.I could not sleep on Saturday as I had attended a funeral and it took most of my energy BUT I think,it was an excuse for me to clear my conscience for not going to church and removed the guilty of most old people who take pills after eating the porridge. I don't regret my action and most important to have listened to the still small voice!!!Rabbi M Friedman,thanks a million for impacting my life in such a short space of time!!!I'm humbled by living and existing definition and how practical and simple you make a person UNDERSTAND!!!!

If Jesus was poor, then why did He have a treasurer( judas iscariot)during His ministries? And You have never heard that Jesus fed Five Thousand people aside from the women and children and on another occasion fed Four Thousand and how many baskets full of left over? Poverty is NOT a blessing according to the Bible. Poverty is a curse. Please Read the Bible. I mean the entire 66 Books. thanks.

I love the rabbi's explanation because it is spot on with regard to Haftarah Vayera. But he omits to expand on the principle that thought is everything. Thought is the gift that Hashem has bestowed on us. Then it follows that anything we achieve or do not achieve is the result of the quality of our thoughts and the quality of our conduct both collective and individual.

I used to, and still do, ask myself, "What kind of a person would I be if I became rich?" I would like to believe that I would be the same wonderful and giving person I am now, but I have doubt about it. Some would say, "Don't you know yourself well enough to know if something like large sums of money would change who you are?" I would answer that I don't believe it would change me, but because I know what money can do and has done to many, I question whether what happens to some might happen to me. In my talks to the Almighty I never ask for financial prosperity. I believe He may give me what I ask for, of course knowing the path it will lead me on, and want me to learn a lesson from it. I fear that He will give me what I ask for so that He may serve His purpose in teaching me a lesson that may be hard for me to take. I don't want to be misunderstood, so let me say this... by no means am I suggesting that I could possibly thwart the Almighty's plan for me. Who am I but a mere mortal? However, I do believe that the Almighty will give you up to your own desires even when they will lead you somewhere you never would wish on your own to go.To anyone reading this, does this sound strange and crazy?
@MrMollypockets6 жыл бұрын
Yes Ali,you do sound strange and crazy.Forget about trying to be rich in the money sense.Try to have richness in your heart and spread thatkind of richness to ALL mankind and you will truely be happy and fulfilled.

No it doesn't, You sound like a sane and nice man. My conviction is that God is not interested in our little plans and ambitions, even if they are well intended. God is interested in one thing only: how much love can He channel through you ? Rich or poor isn't an issue for Him. My advice: live simply but comfortably, value quality over quantity, share without pride, and be grateful at all times.

We’re not born rich? Really? Not the majority but there are many born rich. What do you mean by rich? Is it always money? Because if rich is about money then any and pretty much all of the 1%ers and the 10%ers are born rich.
@PatrickPease5 жыл бұрын
You aren't born with a bank account, or even with clothing. This was his point.
@simplydonsinternettroll2335 жыл бұрын
Patrick Pease and my point is that there are people born with just that. They already have bank accounts in their names when they are born. All sorts of wealth passed along to them. You obviously do not come from that upbringing but it is still a fact. Some trust funds are set up for generations ahead of time. But go on believing whatever it is that makes you a better person. That should really be his message, since most people stick to their birth given dogma.
@PatrickPease5 жыл бұрын
Ah, didn't read your username. It's safe to assume you're gonna be a pain about this. In any case those are accidents of birth, and assuming that you are going to be a pain... If you are born into the United States, at 0.04 percent of The world population and with the 11th wealthiest nation in the world there's a pretty good chance that you are a 1%(I am btw)here is some research to back that up. www.investopedia.com/articles/personal-finance/050615/are-you-top-one-percent-world.asp As far as dogma, I'm not a jew But troll is literally in your name. So I expect more nonsense without a citation and hatred because this guy is a jew.
@simplydonsinternettroll2335 жыл бұрын
Patrick Pease Patrick Pease first off, you’re the one who “trolled” my comment. Just because you’re not honest enough to have it in your username doesn’t make you any less of one. Secondly the site you use supports my point. It shows that in fact that some people are born rich. You say now that some are born “accidentally” with bank accounts, that is the point I was making. No hatred towards his particular religion or any religion. But when someone trying to make a point states something as fact to prove their point (not being born with a bank account) and that fact is not the truth, no matter who they are they need to be called out on it. And I won’t assume a thing about you, there’s no need to, you’re obviously too informed and intelligent to ever make any sort of mistake, like replying to a comment left by a “troll”.
