This scene is a very important key aspect of him becoming and emperor. Tbh I kinda feel bad for him because through out the movie, he gets frame upon, betrayed, and be used by others and his family (mother, wives, and his own son) which eventually leads him to lose his trust in others. (This includes Ruyi who was the only one who was faithful to him). When a man had gone through so many drama with trust, who can u believe in the end?
