So interesting this. Most likely the tax liens stay with the house. Mom might be transferring that liability to her daughter. Also, just FYI: any gift of cash or property over $18K in 2024 in the U.S. triggers gift taxes for the GIVER (mom). There's a work-around for this but you'd need a lawyer and involve other people to do it. (My family did this years ago to transfer a house to someone.)

4:15 I'm not American, but I've never understood making 18 year olds pay rent to their parents immediately. @bubblegumsnowdrop8 ай бұрын
Yeah- I'm not American either and I've always found that a bit weird. Usually the situation of paying "rent" that I see around here is when the kid has a job, and then the parents save the "rent" money and then give it back once the kid moves out. Basically just using it as a lesson to teach how rent works and get used to the idea of it, etc. Although that's also typically when the kid doesn't have school to attend either [if in college I don't see that as often] since if they are in college/university the focus goes there. From what I've heard of the American way of having your kid pay rent though, it's like... actual rent that doesn't get saved, just straight up paid to the parents like a regular landlord, which is WILD to me DX

The student would try to make the deadline for turning in the paper just under the wire. I would open up their paper, correct all of their mistakes (well, highlight them), save it, and email it back to the student telling them that while I appreciate their effort, your professor and I have talked, and he doesn't accept late papers. Therefore when OP gives the money to her mother she simply states its for SELLING the house that the mother transfered into her name in order to avoid paying the taxes on doing so. The guy that lives in my counterpart unit in the other building is a package thief and any time my stuff gets delivered to his place (which is obvious since my door's hinge is on the left, his is on the right) he just keeps it. So when his packages started winding up on my doorstep, I took the opportunity to give him my garbage. Anything non-personally identifable: packaging, used kleenex, chunks of shit from the litterbox, etc. Packing tape comes off relatively easily with a hair dryer and a bit of time. Take the goodies out, fill the box back up with garbage, and then finish the delivery. He can't do anything about it legally without outing himself. He tried to get slick by screwing in one of those light-bulb cameras but I just stole that too lol. I have it screwed into a desk lamp that is pointed at a post-it of a middle finger on the wall, just so if he ever tunes in to its frequency he knows it's still active.

Maybe I'm dumb or I missed it but why would G Man keep using the OPs email for legit emails? The OP warned him that they were using the wrong email address so even if they wanted to be a butthole with spam, why use that email for things you actually do need?

The package thief story reminds me of a neighbor I had.. our streets were haile and hazel and packaged were delivered wrong a lot same number different steet(brand new place when I started renting). I brought them there items and mail 5x at least and yet never got anything from them, even grabbed my packages from there step twice when I got notified of delivery. They never once brought my stuff, always just returned to sender. I started just returning to sender on everything And sometimes I'd sit on it for 2 weeks before returning. It's called being a nice person. Always he was a Dr. Of some sort. Everything always came labeled Dr this or Dr Mrs that. I was a college student....what a piece of crap adult who is apparently some form of Dr

Sorry to point this out but 12"x12" is 12 inches by 12 inches. Not 12 feet by 12 feet. That would be 12'x12'.

I feel like the grandmother, knowing her daughter, left her inheritance for the granddaughter, and the mother is trying to trick daughter by saying that she would right it in her name, so she would fool the daughter into selling her own property and gave her the money, she's a genius if that's the case.

That's honestly a great idea for a thieving roommate! My ex roommate stole my wine while I was home for a weekend and didn't close the bottle all the way when she put it back in my drawer. I came back to campus to a fruit fly infestation and had to clean it myself and I didn't even get any of my wine, she drank 2/3 of the bottle and the rest was full of flies. I got a lock for my door and booby trapped it with a face mask and personal alarm (pull the pin and it makes a god awful screech). Never had any alcohol stolen after that 😈

Roommate food. theif story: in this instance, I get spitting in and licking your own food. Its quite effective and doing it in front of them ensures they see you do it so theyll steal your food at their own risk at that point. However growing up, my moms husband was super effing abusive and used to do this sort of thing in front of us all when we were kids in order to keep us out of all the food in the fridge. He would do it to anything and everything he wanted to keep for himself. Then would have the utter audacity to try and make us cook or make the same food he'd spit in and serve him. Needless to say I was quite the "rebelious kid" while living with him, and the most shameful part of all of it is that my mom is still with this man and serving his lazy ass to this day. Super gross.

It always annoys the crap outta me when women cheat on their successful husbands, and then get half their stuff because of it. They're basically being rewarded for their infidelity
@lancerevell59798 ай бұрын
Which is why many prenups include a provision where infidelity means losing any right to the other's stuff, money, car, house, etc. Just good common sense. 😊

Omg that same exact thing happened with my email address! I live in Australia and the first one I ever got was for an appointment for a cancer screen with the NHS. I was like holy shit, she needs this. So I replied and the NHS person said thanks. But then, she booked a driving trip around Scotland. I got all her booking confirmations! I called Scotland three times trying to sort it out. Eventually something worked because I don't get them anymore.

Obviously because people that aren't accustomed to spicy food, aren't accustomed to spicy food. Like how ignorant do you have to be to believe that everyone should know how to handle spicy food... You're a disgrace for all chiliheads.
