r/Prorevenge is the best when it involves an employee getting sweet revenge against his terrible employers. These entitled managers fired a loyal employee of 15 years and then panicked when their business started falling apart without him. Turns out that firing people who know your business even better than you do can have some pretty hilarious consequences!

@MIDBC1 She's also the type of moron that left her husband that she had a child with just because he wasn't giving her love or attention in the conventional way so it sounds plausible to me since that's the mentality a lot of people have right before cheating and I'm at least giving her kudos for divorcing instead of outright cheating. And seriously the only thing she complained about was that and that alone so the husband sounded like a good husband overall since some people are simply like that and don't dive into emotions too much due to unique characteristics like their temperaments (for example the husband could have been a Melancholic). All in all she kind of reaped what she sowed and I believe it's a true story because her reason for leaving her husband was that he was basically boring and not giving her the kind of attention she wanted (aka the attention she was getting from the new guy who was constantly mounting her) and a fake story would have at least made the husband look bad too so as to justify her leaving him. But nope, her reason was so stupid that it has to be real.

A person who has been romantically tied with that one person FOR A YEAR. Has probably built a large amount of trust. and let's not forget that he was living quite luxurious and like he could afford it in normal times. Meaning she has A YEAR of history thinking she can trust him to pay her back once the deal gets around. She made a mistake trusting him yes, but that's retrospective. At the time she likely saw no reason to not trust this good man she was dating.

To ya'll, I'm actually friends with one of those poor children. My friend had her mom taking her life savings when she nearly turned 18 (when you're counted as an adult here in Sweden) she saved those money since she started to work at age 16. It wasn't super much but say around 3000 Eur/2900 USD. Still much for a 18 year old. Anyway, her mom took them all cause she wanted to go on a nice vacation with her new fiancé, with the argument "it's just fair since I paid for your childhood" let's just say she cut the ties with her mom.

Extremely. My company now has a robot wandering around the store looking for small irregularities on the floor (aka trash/spills), with no way to actually clean anything up. So far i think they're up to $15k in R&D... 99% of the stuff it sees too are 1. Hand wipes 2. Twist ties 3. Price tags All of which a cheap vacuum cleaner attachment could pick up. Also they spent another $10k downgrading our registers to be like Wal-Mart's (more specifically, not the scanner/terminal portion, but everything on the bagging side). So instead of having a nice large area to put the millions of random things people put on the belt (shampoo next to unbagged cabbage next to salad bar next to hot pockets), so that they're easily spread out and sorted, switched to the carousel style which rotates and requires you bag everything you scan immediately or else you have 0 room to put anything. We ain't Wal-Mart, people buy weeks worth of groceries at once. Hot, cold, fresh, frozen, shelf stable, fragile(glass), heavy, sharp, fragile(bread) all should be separated within reason. Almost not possible anymore, so common courtesy/sense got chucked out back and shot. Edit: the new registers also more than tripled the average items per minute scanned, the complete opposite of what the goal was. Edit 2: it took me a month to realize that in edit 1 i meant to say that tripled the time per order, not triple items per minute. That would have actually been fantastic. Muh bad

As part of my education I also got business classes. Two rules of business according to my teachers is that it is *always* cheaper to keep customers than it is to find new ones and the same can be said about employees. Sure, senior/experienced full time employees are more expensive short term, but a fully trained employee will make up that expense in the long run versus a new, green and inexperienced employee who will need training and experience-building before getting even close to the effectiveness of a long-time employee.

This is what happens with an inverse power structure. All the actual work happens on the ground floor, but all the responsibility happens further up the tower. So basically, the people who actually do the work, don't get to choose who keeps their job, but the guy at the top who has no idea how the company works, and who _also_ gets to make sweeping changes that affect everyone below him, is able to fire whoever he pleases. Same goes for jobs: We're in a current, worrying habit of creating superfluous managerial positions. CEO, vice CEO, marketing analytics, senior executive of treasure reporting, on and on, in order to create high paying jobs that have relatively little workload. Meanwhile, the people on the bottom, the foundation of the entire company, are being let go, and paid less to do more. And it doesn't take an engineering degree to tell you what happens when you keep piling stuff up on top, while weakening the foundations of a building.

That maintenance guy story reminds me of an incident. My dad was in the power industry as the head of sales department. The company was doing very well, cuz my dad helped them open up their market in the south east Asia, and he alone managed the entire south east client base, building contacts and growing the market. My dad's original boss was a very nice guy, our families went out for dinner and stuff many times. But one day, the nice boss is transferred to another department and enters douche boss(DB). He came from the accounts department, and as an accounting guy myself, I know how crazy and delusional they can be. So, as soon as DB takes charge, he sends a very long email stating his expectations, and how he is going to improve the department. Dad doesn't care cuz all he has to do is maintain his client base. DB knew what dad contributed to the company, and knew he was an invaluable asset as he also had almost opened a market for the company in Europe. This meant a lot of travelling. He was away from home for atleast 10 days in a month(it was tough for us, but we supported him) So obviously, he was also the most expensive employee, due to constant flights, hotel bills, food bills etc. And he never took advantage of the company, never travelled in business class, never had food in expensive restaurants, used public transport whenever possible. And even if he cost a lot to the company, he covered it all with the huge inflow of clients and projects. Anyway, the DB knows all of this, but he hates my dad cuz even tho dad is technically a subordinate, DB can't say a word to him. So for some reason he starts making office hell for my dad. Like giving negative reviews in monthly reports, not telling him about meetings and then cussing him out for not showing up, and other things. Eventually it came to a point where dad was in review for being fired, and he went in to the meeting and just said, "you lose me? You gonna regret it". Turns out the management thought any1 can do what my dad does, and can be paid much lower, so they fire him very disrespectfully. Dad is very disappointed at first, but then gets a job offer. Job offer comes from the rival company, for double the salary, and many benefits. He takes it, shifts his clientèle to the new company and the old company watches in horror as almost 80 per cent of their clients just dissappear.

I love it when you hear a story about a company wanting to sue someone over information that was compiled and databased by someone on their own time so that they can make their own job easier. The bosses don't care about the personal time that it took the employee to build the database, just assuming that the database is company property. Then they don't want to pay a fair market value for the product. They know that they won't be the poor schleps that have to be digging through the paperwork to get in needed information. They'll just be the whip holders demanding that the employees search faster, without the benefit of the needed tools for efficiency, that they refuse to pay for.

My dad is a highly qualified refridgeration mecanic. Aka an HVAC technician. He spent my entire life up to his medical retirement 9 years ago working for a company in the Aerospace and Military contract field. In spite of the 30+ years of training, education, and experience. "Management" - the company changed ownership several times. Was constantly trying to increase their profit. For those of you who don't know corporate speech this is more commonly known as lay offs and cutting insurance and retirement benefits and devaluing "fringe" jobs AKA not management. For senior employees like my dad whose pay they couldn't cut. They cut experienced employees so they could be replaced with cheaper laborers. My dad wasn't at all sorry for them when they tried to get him to come back and help train the new guys. (He said no by the way). Not long afterwards the company got bought out again -they were devaluing the company and in financial trouble. The new owners seem to be doing a much better job of being productive vs. profit mongers. For anyone who doesn't know a "mechanic". HVAC stands for Heating, Vents, and Air Conditioning. Technicians aren't just responsible for climate control. In his job my dad had to maintain complicated systems responsible for the safety of people working with unstable materials required to building rocket motors, missiles, and other rather confidential projects. In order to do his job he had to pass at least 3 government security checks (I'm pretty sure that's more than your average FBI agent). He has to understand mechanical blueprints, do the work of an electrician, a chemist , and know how to safely handle hazardous materials of many types. He is also a qualified fireman. If they had a college degree that was roughly equivalent he would probably have 2 doctorates with specialties or maybe 3 master's degrees. This is what it takes to do a blue collar job. How is it that society thinks a 4 year bachelors degree graduate is even slightly smarter than that ?

Education time for those who don't know what's going on: KZbin makes sure views and watch time is organic and not artificial using bots. So, all views are screened before the counter is updated to make sure they're not fake as views and watchtime correlate directly to money when it comes to KZbin. Likes aren't as important because they don't directly influence economics, so they're updated first, and screened later to throw away the fakes. And that is why for a few minutes after a video is uploaded, it can show more likes than views.

The one about the lady with the database reminds me of something similar happening with my dad after he was fired from a company he'd worked with cor 12 yrs. My dad had worked for a garage door company starting out as an installer and eventually worked his way up to doing payroll. My dad was literally the only one in the office that knew every single installer and warehouse worker for the company which now that I'm older isn't that amazing because it was a fairly small company so there were only about two dozen guys. As for the office there were only about ten that worked there and on average I'd say only four people, including my dad, actually showed up daily. I say I know this because my dad made an arrangement with the owner of the company to come into work at 5am with me, take half an hour to go drop me off at school, and then leave at 3:30pm to pick me up and either go back to the office or go home for the day. This is because I went to a magnet school in middle school that was a short drive away from my dad's work but across town from our house so my single dad's only option was to bring me to work with him much like how he used to bring me with him on jobs when I was younger and he was still and installer. Anyway I loved my dad's work family. It was like having two dozen goofy uncles and the office secretary, Miss Millie, was like one of those sweet old ladies in a Hallmark movie but twice as charming, and JT (the only other lady at the company) who did the books and sent out billing was super cool. Unfortunately some office politics came up and while my dad is many things he's not the kind of person to campaign for his job. He flat out told them that he did his job to the best of his abilities and he would not throw any of his guys under the bus to make himself look better. So unfortunately they fired him and gave a lengthy list of reasons for his firing including his unprofessionalism of bringing his child to the office. Why couldn't they have been honest and just said that the next guy in line for his job was willing to do it for half the pay? Why'd they have to get so personal. At the same time TJ also quit, giving no notice, and moved out of state with her fiance (my dad and I helped her pack up her house). So with TJ gone my dad decided to get his own petty revenge and just walked out instead of training his replacement. The company called a couple days later demanding he return and decipher all of his paperwork for the new guy. Turns out over the last five years my dad and TJ had developed their own short hand that made the work assignments(which TJ and my dad both coordinated before handing over to the warehouse manager), payroll, and billing for this entire company was basically written in ancient Egyptian and no one could figure it out. TJ had already changed her number, paychecks were late, new jobs weren't being started, current jobs weren't getting done, people with finished jobs hadn't received their bills so those were left unpaid. My dad told them that they should have paid better attention, should have not gotten so smart with the two people that basically kept the place running, and that the guy who was doing his job now for half the pay could now work twice as hard to earn it. Click. I don't know the exact details of what happened after that. A couple years back one of the installers at the time ran into me and he told me chaos ensued for almost six months. They lost a lot of major contracts during that time and they ended up having to hire someone to come in and uncode all of the files my dad and TJ had shorthanded. They had to uncode almost five years of major paperwork. Guy told me it was over a year before anything got back to a semblance of normal.

They would schedule me for like 12 hours a week with 20 hours on call, meaning I had to call them like 2 hours before the shift to see if I had to come in. Then they wouldn’t let you leave if you were closing until the store was perfect and yell at you the whole time for not working fast enough. I once got YELLED AT for sitting down for a minute. It was pretty bad.
