If he takes some time off to let his voice heal, when he comes back, it will be better quality, and possibly less recovery time in between, as he wouldn't have injured his voice any more that it already had been.

The last school I worked at also refused to close when the *government* ordered all public schools (we're private) to close due to bad weather. A tree fell during *lunch break* on the field where students were playing as a direct result of the bad weather. There was no such drama afterwards though. 13:26 As a high-school student in a backwater town in a big county in Southern Ontario, yah, road get crazy out here real fast Also as a daughter of a bus driver, if they say it isn’t safe. IT ISNT SAFE!!! My mom has driven in foggy, ice-stained roads before and almost went straight into a ditch bc of road conditions!!! Edit: one time when I was in grade 4 (I was 10) there was a HUGE windstorm (almost like the one in the story, except the fact that the schools and roads didn’t shut down as the storm was announced well after school started) and once I got of the bus, I was nearly knocked over by the shear force of the wind! Thankfully my older sister was behind me and kept me up. We ended up spending that night in my next-door neighbour’s basement (our family’s were friends) bc I didn’t even feel safe in my own home (trees aligned the separation of my family’s house my other neighbour’s driveway, barely even a meter from the house and I was scared one was gonna crash through the roof) The power was also out to we had no heating, which was another reason we stayed there, we brought some firewood and we all sat by the in-home fireplace and had played some cars games to pass the time while we got tired Good thing it was a Friday and it was over by morning

It is so immensely satisfying to be the good guy who succeeds a power trippy superior. I replaced a manager who was widely considered a prick, even by the customers, and he was ultimately fired after a huge incident(another juicy story lol). I was looking for training and was hired by the company as they can pay me less and I had connections. When I came on, the people looked at me with fear at first, even though they were much much older than me. But I was a newbie in this industry, so I regularly asked for help and feedback. Our HR department was super cool and helped me bond with my department. I learned a lot of things from those below my position, and eventually, they trusted me and actively challenged my decisions and policies(which I encouraged). Now we are super close, and even though there are tough times, my team always got my back.

That last one reminds of my own old school district. I live in the suburbs of Saint Paul, Minnesota, infamous for our bad blizzards. Our district, however, knew no such concept of a "snow day," and would barrel forward in any such incident. I know this made my parents (and probably many others) grumble, but in this case, it did have a more benevolent intention behind it. See, my school district also featured many students of poorer families as well, including Hmong refugees, and getting the free lunches our school provides helps relieve said poorer families of more financial burden.

As a school bus driver I can tell that in my school district that kind of snow day bs would last exactly one day or a bad snow storm, cause our drivers would just all collectively call in saying they can't safely make it to the lot. Not sure how big the transportation depot was in that last story but you try to fill over 100 bus routes with 15 conflict drivers and see how long it takes to get kids to school :P
