They played this at the Blue Note last week. Even KZbin doesn't do this justice; you must hear it live. Christian Scott's playing is other-worldly; ethereal.

Magic to my ears. If this was 4 years ago this music is giving me now. 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽

Once again, these guys have knocked me out. (Plus, the trumpet solo brought content and sound together in a way I haven't heard before. Transcendent). I've played in improvised music groups in the past, never to this level goes without saying, but on a good day I/we went to a 'place' where the music formed the very structure of my immediate reality, and I would play instinctively to that. I dimly saw the usual world but it was less important than the reality I was occupying through the music. One of the best feelings ever. I think I see that in Robert's face. It's awesome to watch and hear. His fluency and imagination run free in that place.
@sockpoppy6 жыл бұрын
Vintage Things I love how you describe the “place” here. Whether you play or just listen to music, being “there” is one of life’s treasures.
@vintagethings91876 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sockpoppy. I've always struggled to best describe that experience, and I'm happy it resonated with you. I think these guys are great for open eared listeners as they play very honestly on their own journey.

Fun comment to read. I get that feeling from writing once in a while.

Hey Charlie. Thanks for the comment. Fascinated to hear you find that place in writing. I'd never considered it might be possible in writing, but now I'll look out for it!
