አረፍተ ነገር እንዴት እናያይዝ
CONJUCTIONS
A conjunction is a word that is used to connect
words,
phrases, and
clauses.
common conjuctions
and, or, but, because, for, if, and when.
-Words
e.g you and me...apple or mango
- Phrases=incomplete group of words.=
e.g After the meeting.......I met her.
-Clauses=complete sentence
e.g I ate a lot bread because I was hungry.
1-coordinating conjunction= placed between words, phrases, clauses, or sentences of equal rank

For And Nor But Or Yet So
They join independent clauses to create compound sentences.
e.g I like football, and I like cricket.
e.g It is mine but you can take it.
e.g I am unhappy and not satisfied.
2-subordinating =A subordinating conjunction is used to introduce a dependent clause.
e.g because, if, although, since, until, and while.
e.g Give me a call once you have finished.
e.g The machine started to work as we left the office.
e.g I am not going to school because I am exhuasted.
3-Correlative conjuctions
They are pair of words to show equal elements.
e.g Common pairs include either … or, neither … nor, not only … but also, and
both … and...
e.g I promised to tell her either on the phone or through email.
e.g You would rather drink coffee than alcohol.
e.g She runs as fast as a tiger.
