With the Toy Story thing...wasn't Bo Peep a figurine rather than a toy? She still came to life though. Then in part 4 they put googly eyes on a spork and that came to life too. I don't think it's as cut and dry as "only toys". If someone ever grabs one of those crucifixes and makes airplane noises while moving it around like a plane, then that poor sucker is in a world of hurt.

A lot of the reason Jurassic Park still holds up is a lot of it is practical. If you can only see one part of the dinosaur, it's an animatronic. If it's a raptor, it's a guy in a suit. If it's a raptor and it's not moving much, it's an animatronic. Also the T-Rex breakout is at night and in the rain which hides a lot of the flaws. Really the only bits that have aged poorly are the Gallimimus stampede scene and a couple shots in the kitchen with the raptors.

My dad teaches film, specifically editing, and the movie he has shown the most to his students is Jurassic Park, because of all the cool things it does with special effects and such. He has now seen the movie over 100 times, and his favorite thing to do is spot continuity errors and other mistakes because he is still finding more to this day. That frame with the disappearing raptor is the one that made him so intrigued by the errors.

A good reason Why The Original Jurassic park Holds up so well, was because they only used the CGI to touch up traditional practical effects, Like Puppets and Animatronics, they look real because they are real, they just used the CGI to smooth out the kinks, and Hide all the bits that would ruin the illusion. This is also the reason the Sequels haven't aged as well, because they used less practical effects in favour of Full CGI. No matter how good CGI gets, its hard to beat something actually physically there.

That cat thing is entierly true. I normally take a shower in the evening because it can be a pain to wake up earlier before work. Then when I get out I go feed the cats their wet food. They have learned this and when I come out of the bathroom all three are sitting outside it and greet me. Then like I am a god or angel or royalty the cats herald my way downstairs where I feed them. we first fed all three in the kitchen but because one is a little lady she will eat slow, and the others will bully into her food if we do not observe them. Well if I take a shower at any other time of the day they will think food time is nearby then pester me if they feel its being delayed. Furthermore I usually get to bed around 10pm-12 depending upon if I work the next day or not. and if I stay up to long one of the cats will stare at me, demanding I go to bed. They have also learned to recognize the sounds of me waking up (alarms, glasses case opening, phone being checked for messages etc) and will come and give me a morning cuddle.

I think most people don't appreciate Shakespear because the way education covers these things is less about actually experiencing the content and more about "You're going to have an exam about this, so this is how you answer the exam questions about this" Back in school I'd covered: Romeo and Juliet, Othello, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Much Ado About Nothing and The Tempest. Not once did I get to just enjoy the story. It was all focused on dissecting it into small parts to hyper-analyse. Stopping every few words in a reading to talk about the language. Watching film adaptations where the same scene is played on repeat numerous times before skipping to the next notable scene... It's much like with poetry in general. I hated poetry in school because of how hyper-critical you're forced to be about it. But after leaving school and reading Poe's stuff I quite enjoy it because I can experience it for what it is in its entirety.

The girls who lived in this house had a small Jesus toy/figurine that they would hide in random locations inside the house so that they could ask people who visited if they had found Jesus. I only recall parts of Macbeth because, way back in 2002-2003 pre camera phones and cheap digital cameras, we got put into groups to record portions of the play. I quite enjoyed playing head witch over a cauldron in our garage, and two of my friends had a mock swordfight in the back yard, all captured slightly out of focus by my younger brother and his buddy. Rest of the play beyond act 1? Uh Lady Macbeth goes on her 'out, out damn spot' kick, I don't recall much else...
