An overly and unnecessarily difficult game which infuriatingly relies on the players ability to repeatedly play through the levels an exhausting amount of times, memorizing enemy attack patterns and memorizing their a pathway through the levels. A complete waste of time and money. 0/10 to the developers.

R-type is my favorite game for life. I have some very rare items and also in the top 10 Worldwide on R-type Dimensions ( 65k + players ). I really enjoy this latest game but I agree with You that there are many elements which the developers seemed to insist on making almost impossible. Its interesting how different styles of games transfer to different consoles. With the very First outing in the 80's the layout was exemplary with set patterns that You new were set in stone so to speak. With Final 2 there are times when it all depends on how the game and console are and if it feels like allowing You to progress. Classic example the level on DLC with the maze at the end and fast scrolling boss from R-Type 2. It took Hours to figure out which ship to use and what pattern. I dont know why they had to make the achievements so difficult. Its almost like a last addition to totally infuriate the gamer. The Flawless R-Typer Trophy should have been set on any difficulty accept practice. They should have allowed the slow mo function to achieve it. I really like the Game but there has been times when I despise its difficulty curve and for Me and others being an avid R-type fan all my life its a shame. Its like sometimes You play it and use exactly the same pattern as before and yet still end up being nailed??? Some of the stages and bosses give You literally no room to maneuver at all. Lets hope that if there are any future R-type games that they take on board the criticism.
