I have just checked mine today because I had some noise from it and problem with the gears, turned up that was wrong 2. It was replaced couple months ago by mechanik. I have changed the last plate now and the clutch is quite and the gears working fine so far. Tx

Alot of ppl make mistake when reinstalling cover and can't get enough pull on cable to disengage.i wonder if your still a little off and not getting full pull and that's why adjusting between hot and cold.when installing cover cable must be unhooked and usually using 2 hands,one holding the arm rearward some and the other to start sliding cover on, as lever rotates forward as cover going on,that's why need to start out holding back some.once think have right move lever w fingers and should feel stiff near where dot and arrow line up.i think your prob just a CPL splines off

darren Z thanks for the input, I’ve taken the clutch cover off several times before and I’m pretty sure it’s on correctly and the arrow and dot are aligned, I’m pretty certain this issue was being caused by the judder spring but we’ll see how it goes

Hello，Azz Kam. Has the problem been resolved? I got the same freeplay issue on my zx-10r. It goes excessively slack when the bike warm and tight when it cool down.

That sounds exactly what wrong... Personally I just remove the judder spring and spacer on all my bikes. It's not needed. Just make the clutch smoother.

2:27 you got the first plate to take out installed wrong. The first plate to take out or the last to place in should be in the other groove on the basket. That is the only plate thats sits different.

What do you mean in the other grooves on the basket? There's only 1 way to install the plates.

@@bullinapeamurica5940 no, the last friction plate installed is supposed to be offset by one groove. Its says so in the manual, same in the fz1 which uses the r1 motor.

my cable soo tight i cant engage anything or adjust.its either way too loose or too tight to engage gears ,is something off on new clutch plates install

@@Ss14r1 you got the little arm installed wrong probably, make sure the triangle lines up with the dot after you put tension on the cable so the triangle on the arm should be a little to the right of the dot then when you put tension on it they should line up

I replaced my clutch about a month ago and now the bikes vibrates. when I pull in the clutch the vibrations go away. anyone know what the problem could be?

freedom240188 first thing id check is the clutch free play and if all is good then check clutch cable and replace if it’s stretched out, and then look at replacing the clutch itself depending on the mileage and when the clutch was last replaced etc, I hope you get it sorted mate

Hi Azz Kam . Great vids mate. I've just changed clutch, metal discs and springs on my 2004 R1. Yep.... putting the clutch cover back on is a bitch until you get use to it. Quick question... Is the clutch basket/hub standard or aftermarket ??? It looks different to mine. (The oil filler cap on the clutch cover is in a slightly different position too) I'm in Australia so it might be different specs for different countries. Cheers mate.

hi mate, isnt that normal? cos when the oil warms up and the plates and discs warm up aswell they probably get thinner or thicker so the free play will automatically change? my bike does it aswell and it doesnt have the judder spring.
