Agree. Remember fill is only 180ml, the Haynes manual is wrong on this specification as BMW lowered it from 220ml to prevent overpressure seal failures. Final drive oil is so cheap. Too bad on early oil cooled bikes you have to drop the driveshaft but worth inspecting that too.

Replace the 6013-2RSR big bearing and seal before they fail (Replace at 30-50 thousand miles). Do this on 2005 - 2009, and 2010 without vent final drives. Just remove the bolts from the wheel carrier side and tap the entire axle out of the case. Then press off the wheel carrier and press out the bearing. Use good engineering principles. Do not press on the wrong races (Do not damage bearing). If you wait too long to replace the bearing, the bearing will fail and backwards-contaminate the pinion bearings.

Thanks for your video, I agree with your thoughts on maintenance instead of repairs, much less painful on the wallet 😁😁. Please can you give me the bearing numbers that go into the final drive. Are they standard dimension bearings or are they specific to BMW?
