As an actual doctor who has studied the injuries caused by RTA (road traffic accident), NEVER I REPEAT NEVER remove his helmet after crash. NEVER. In case the person in accident has had head injury like a cracker skull the helmet essentially becomes the external shell that holds everything in place. Only remove it in safe environment (at a hospital) or if u know the person has hit his head then but you'll never know that for sure.
