@@AlbertLand2009 which type of R160B? R160B Alstom or R160B Siemens? R160B Alstom models exist too, did you know that? Infact, the very first R160B models to have ever ran in service were equipped with the Alstom propulsion, and these R160B models' fleet numbers were 8713-8722, and were all manufactured by Kawasaki. Meaning that R160Bs have existed way before the Siemens propulsion (the R143 Siemens test set does not count). Also, did you know that there are way more R160Bs that have the Alstom propulsion more than the amount of R160Bs that have the Siemens propulsion? Yeah, so please listen very carefully! The REAL difference between an R160A and an R160B is the door motors! I repeat, THE DOOR MOTORS!!! The door motors on the R160As are loud and clear and are easily noticeable, and whenever these R160A models open and close their doors, they sound very robotic. Whereas the door motors on the R160Bs are so quiet that you seriously scientifically cannot possibly hear it with your own bare ears! That's right, the R160B door motors are all completely silent! So silent, it's almost like nothing ever happened, so there you go! That's the REAL difference between an R160A and an R160B! Also the type of R160 set that was featured in this video was an R160B Alstom propulsion G Train, so please learn your models correctly.

It's amazing the improvements they have made to the Subway/Elevated Train System of the MTA. Back when I rode the trains in the late 1950's/early 1960's, they did have announcements, you had to guess at what the hell was going on. I love the background music you are using, it makes for a superb video DJ Hammer :o)

TBH I like the longer G Trains. I think the MTA should increase the lengths of the G Train, but to 480 feet trains (not 600 feet trains). With the G Train's current ridership growth (up approximately 120,000 riders in 12 years) the 300 feet trains are eventually going to be too short for the ridership level. This can even be seen in the current day. However, 480 feet trains would be best because it would allow more riders. While 600 feet trains also allows this, 600 feet trains shouldn't be used on the G Line because there wouldn't be as much people in each car. Unfortunately, there is a train car shortage, so I doubt this would be happening anytime soon (for regular service, the 2019 Canarsie Tube shutdown will force longer G Trains).

Awesome! Nice catch with the full car sets. It was very unusual because regular G-train riders are used to 4-car R68s and R68As. They probably were surprised to see a full-car R68A, along with an R46 and an R160! :P

This is uncommon but heard of, usually the G takes some F equipment in random cases it needs full trains, when the L stops running into Manhattan for 18 months we'll see full length R68s and probably more of these R160s or maybe for the first time the R143s

An Alien Originally, the (G) train had significantly less ridership than other lines along with the (C). However, ridership has skyrocketed. MTA currently doesn't have enough subway cars to relieve the sudden rise in ridership on the (G) and (C).

TEMPLE7D I just realized something (and I feel dumb for now realizing this) but when the G Train's ridership was very low, like about less than 30,000 people a day, the G Train was using 6 Car Trains (75 foot train cars for 450 foot trains) and 8 Car Trains (60 foot train cars for 480 foot trains). But now, when the G Train's ridership is at an all-time high (Almost 150,000 people a day, about 5 times the amount of people), the G Train is using 4 Car Trains (300 foot trains). So I guess that means more people means less train cars? There's no logic here, I know.

Ryan Ng The programs on each train have to be changed manually (no main database). The G Train still shows Queens Blvd Local because the G Train rarely used R160s, so the G Train program wasn't changed (they still have a program for Queens Blvd Local service to Forest Hills). It's just like with the R Train. The R Train hasn't been using R160s until recently, but when it was rerouted to the 6th Avenue Line via 53rd Street sometime in 2014, it still announced "Via the V Line" instead of "Via the M Line" (DJ Hammers had a video of R Trains at West 4th Street-Washington Square running 6th Avenue, that's how I know).
