It started off as CBTC testing and now more had to be transferred due to R160 maintenance.

My first reaction was OH COME ON! Lol, cuz it was cool for them to be on the (M) and a bit on the (F), but now the (E) that’s bit much. But it will allow for a nice change of pace.

R179 sets 3317-3313/3268-3272 & 3323-3327/3242-3238 are the two sets that were borrowed from Pitkin Yard for CBTC testing and more or less to fill up space since most of Jamaica Yards R160A-2s & R160Bs have been removed from service for maintenance & inspection work.
