Hearing this gave me several what-ifs... like what if they got Jessica to record "Medgar Evers College" before it was eventually added in 2019, or what if Dianne continued recording announcements for the 2 train, like a post-2005 version of the Dianne Times Square announcements, or her saying WTC-Cortlandt.

I wonder if they can still even call Jessica in to do some announcements, she still does radio work but I think she does it for some NBC companies. Dianne basically disappeared after the mid 00s and Melissa’s announcements are long gone. another “what if” idea is if Annie Bergen did the updated station names for the 7, as several have been renamed since the original programs were recorded, such as Court Square, Mets Willets Point and strangely 5th Avenue despite not being renamed, maybe Annie’s 5th Avenue wasn’t good enough to whoever managed the announcements.

something i theorize is that Charlie Pellett recorded more lines when he was being asked to record back in 1998/1999. that could explain why we even have the "9" "V" and "W" train annoucements in the first place. i bet Charlie recorded an announcement saying "T" but we won't hear it until the 2040s or something. maybe Charlie recorded "H"... or even a letter that the MTA will probably never use, like "I" or "O"

it could also explain the weird... inconsistency with the "A" and "G" announcements, as they seem to either have been rerecorded, or were an alternate take while he was recording the original back in 1998/1999

This wasn't done through a website. There are some text to speech ones out there, but I wasn't able to get anything close to this through them. I don't plan on doing many of these just because of the amount of time and work it takes to train an AI to make it pronounce a word.

This is interesting, but sadly I think Velina’s gonna do the announcements. afaik Jessica is back in New York (I read somewhere she moved out west some time ago and came back a few years ago) Charlie is still around and so is Bernie. Catherine seemed to dip after like 2015 when she finished up doing SBS transfers and Kathleen after like 2012/13, and who knows wherever Dianne is, iirc she hasn’t recorded any announcements since 2004.
