Ah man I remember these! It’s a damn shame they retired early to the r160, now don’t get me wrong I like the Kowasaki built ones but not really the Alstom to much. Either way these r40 had lots of life in em, shame they retired so early

Nah those scary looking things needed to retire. It retired on time it’s all the other old trains that are retiring late. We should’ve got those r211s like 10-15 years ago.
