R6 Photo and Video Menu Settings

For someone with a new R6 this will probably be very helpful 😊 Nice that the new firmware update gives the option of dual recording and C-Log 3 😊 Will there be a comparison video on C-Log VS C-Log 3? 😊

C-Log VS C-Log 3 would be a good idea. I'm still learning the nuances of them so it will be sometime down the road.

The AF point selection button can be set to cycle though the AF points with each press of the button. No need to touch a dial. Also keeps all three relevant focus buttons with reach of your thumb. No need to use the dof button

I realized that once I published the video. I set it and used it for a while and I'm not sure if it's because I was in the habit of using the depth of field button or not, but it felt awkward so I switched it back. It's crazy how fast you get accustom to your setup.

I dropped out because I have other passions, mainly went to school to build upon my knowledge. I was a forensic psych major and communication major, and learned a lot about how humans learn and communicate. I have ADHD and PTSD, so it was difficult navigating social situations but the courses helped me in an unorthodox ways 🤣

It's a color checker. It helps with getting correct color in the video in post processing.

Hi there! my R6 on photo, MENU 7, IS (image Stabilizer) mode, I just have Digital IS video, I saw a tutorial that has 3 options, IS mode, Digital IS and Still photo IS. I dont know why? I have 1.4.0 firmware. Can you give me a hand?

When using EF lenses with the adapter you get the 3 options. When using RF lenses you get 1 option Digital IS. Hope this helps.

@@faspete2nd thanks my friend, you right about RF and EF, but my EF dont work with 3 options, its a EF 16-35 F4 IS, maybe IS lens dont work with R6 sistem.

@@RickUSA1968 I used my EF 50mm f/1.8 and it's not stabilized, so maybe EF lenses with IS don't give that option.

Hey Peter... I have the opportunity to get a second body at no (or nearly no) cost to me. I currently own an m6 mkII and have loved your videos, and have heavily considered getting something in the R series. I would have to pay the difference to upgrade from an R to an R6... Do you think the difference is worth the investment?

For me it would be the R6 because of the stabilization, animal eye detect, and better ISO performance. I do mostly handheld shooting and I'm in thick forest with low light, so I need all 3 of those things. The R6 has it and the EOS R does not. I think the R6 is a overall better camera so if you have the financial ability to get the R6 then go for it. Keep in mind this is my shooting situation and your shooting style and needs might be different so it's always a good idea to rent first (if you have the ability) to see which one meets your needs the best. Hope this helps at least a little.

@@faspete2nd ok thanks! I shoot indoor stuff a lot, different situation but similar lightning struggles. I am certainly leaning for the R6. Would you say it’s a worthy enough replacement to offload the m6 to buy R6 glass?

@@Danielated 100% yes. I have not picked up my M6 over my R6 since I got it. Everytime I reach into my bag it's to get the R6. I use my EF 50mm f/1.8, and purchased the RF 35mm f/1.8 and the outrageously expensive RF 100-500mm. And so far I have not needed another focal length. 35mm for my talking head videos. 50mm for B-Roll, and 100-500 for my wildlife photography. It's working out great so far.

So how noticeable is the improvement of the full frame large censor with 20 megapixels over the smaller m6 sensor with the 32 megapixels? Thanks : )

To me there is a large difference. Especially in ISO/low light performance. The full frame 20 megapixels wins hands down. I did a R6 vs M6 video on my channel showing it. If you feel like it check it out. It was a large enough difference for me to make the switch to full frame. The M6 just takes up space now. I hardly ever use it anymore.
