I solved my infrequent heating issues by carrying 3x3 cold gel packs. Again my R5 rarely overheats except when I shoot for 3 hours of a high musical for my daughter. The cold packs increase the heat transfer from the back of the camera and allow me to shoot indefinitely. I even tried the small zip lock bags with thin ice cubes. Of yea baby my R5 was chilling at 8k with no heating issues. Since I shoot my long videos on a tripod the ice packs are a minimal inconvenience.

I’ve seen dozens of R6/R5 video comparisons a few weeks ago and now this one popped up. I have to ask, are you playing a character or something? Also, your video was so bare-bones and devoid of any real detail about the cameras. It seemed to be more about workout footage than a meaningful camera comparison. I don’t know what to make of something like this. Not trying to be mean, just some constructive criticism.

When do you find yourself overheating?

@@TailoredTechnique Recording interviews in 4K 24 fps, after 20 minutes or so, the overheating warning starts to pop up in my R6. I have tested it in air-conditioned controlled room or outside, under the sun. Any tips will be welcomed! Thanks!

@@arttiz01 if you could record in 1080, this would possibly fix it. 30 min record time limit for one video though. However, have you heard of an external recorder like the atoms ninja V?
