Raag Bairagi : Alaap & Gat In Ektaal | Flute (Indian Classical) By Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasiya

My flute teacher Prakash Chakravarthi (late) taught me this Raaga (with many others). More than often when he asks "Which raaga you want to practice today?" I would say "Bairagi" irrespective of the time of the day. He would kindly oblige, even in the evenings. I would play after him for about an hour and give up eventually (when I cant play too complicated patterns). Then he would continue playing alone without burden of taking me along. That is when we get to hear one of the best concerts; the artist is absolutely free - no burden of time, audience or students.

This raga is very similar or almost the same as Revathi in carnatic music. I feel this is more of an adaptation than creation. Are you talking abt the song?

Not so,my friend Bhairagi Bhairav is borrowed from Carnatic music by Pt.Ravi Shankar. where it is called Revati

Nice...! Just one suggestion... If you don't have the original video, don't just use clips from some other recording.... Ppl who know music can make out... I'd rather prefer to see just a static picture... Watching some other video makes no sense...
