The anecdote of Bade Ghulam Ali Khan visiting a friend, looking at the fishes swimming in the aquarium, calling his son and saying "dekh Mainu, Allah ne samsara me kaise 'Desi' banake rakhi hai' followed by the taan was absolutely brilliant and nostalgic. It corroborates the anecdotes of Kalle Khan Sahib and Baded Ghulam Sahib in circulation in the music circles around the world, and their constant immersion in mosiqi. Early in the video Ajoyji says he sings this as Desi and not Desi todi. It might make sense to change the name?

There has been a lot of controversy/debate on the name. Same raag Pandit Omkar Nath Thakur has sung it as Desi Todi. It is my guess that like we call Bilaskhani Todi as simply Bilaskhani also Darbari Kanhda as Darbari only similarly Desi Todi might have Desi only in course of time.

The Swara on this raag is not like desi todi . That's why it's good to change the title to just desi.
