I am a Sri Lankan living in California. I donot know the meaning of the songs. I always get goosebumps when I hear this song. I first heard this in 1997/1998. Love it since then. I just sent an email to my 13 year old son's piano teacher to watch this and teach him this song. Love it. Your fingers flow Raashi. Beautiful....

The meaning of this song is about first love. If you listen to the original lyrics, the first words are ‘pehla nasha’, where ‘pehla’ means first, and ‘nasha’ literally means addiction or intoxication (the effects of alcohol). It compares love to the feeling of being addicted. The reason the song sounds so good is because it has a very pure emotion in it - seeing your love for the first time and admiring everything about them. It’s literally one of the best love songs of that time. Ask any Indian 30-40 year olds - they will all tell you this was the song everyone had a soft spot for when they were in college or high school. What Love Story by Taylor Swift is for young girls, that is this song for all the college or high school kids at the time the song was released.

Miss.Raashi Kulkarni. You have a style of your own. In playing any piece the important thing is to bring out the soul of the composition. There is no need for bringing an extra element. Further the instrumentalist should not think that he is doing something incomparable. The gimmicks like contorting your face to reveal the wrinkles thereon swaying the head as if you are so involved are better avoided. I have not seen such things while you play the piano. Thus you are something special. Congrats.
