Raazi Controversy : Bollywood's History Of Hinduphobia And Appeasement

A recent controversy around the film, Raazi, has once again, opened the discussion about Bollywood's Hinduphobia, bias, and appeasement of Pakistan and certain communities.
Harinder Sikka, author of the book, "calling Sehmat", on which the film Raazi is based, spoke out against the director of the movie, Meghna Gulzar, and how she changed the story of the film to appease Pakistan.
This appeasement has a long history in Bollywood. Indian's inferiority complex, along with educated elites' Hinduphobia and has resulted in a long list of movies that smear Hindus, and go out of their way to portray Muslims in a positive light.
Thankfully, there is a trend emerging where some filmmakers want to tell the story of Indian heroes without worrying about political correctness and appeasement. For example, Uri and Tanhaji. I discuss what we can do to encourage more such movies.

He is going around crying foul about being denied the credit for Raazi's story, but he should remember that he has done the same thing to a young director. Sikka produced a very ambitious film Nanak Shah Fakir, based on Guru Nanak Dev ji, but just because of some creative differences, he actually denied the directorial credit to a talented youngster Sartaj Singh Pannu, who has actually directed the film. Pannu actually had to go to court to get his due credit, which he finally got after a protracted court case. On Imdb, the cinematographer AK Bir is listed as the director. What goes around comes around, Sikka sahib.. Do unto others what you expect others to do unto you...
