How can spirituality guide us in difficult times?
How can people win the battle against addiction, and make it through life's most difficult challenges?
Today's guest has an answer that may surprise you.
Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski MD, of blessed memory, served as director of the department of psychiatry at St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He has lectured extensively around the world on topics such as stress, self-esteem, and spirituality, and as a spokesperson for recovery - inspiring and healing and well-being for those in need.
He has authored over eighty books, and his ancestry traces back to the Baal Shem Tov, a spiritual master of Judaism who founder of the Chassidic movement.
In today's episode, he addresses some of the unique challenges of our time - the quest for happiness, and how so often this gets confused with the quest for pleasure. He shares his advice on how to deal with times of stress - such as the current, unprecedented situation with COVID-19 - reminding us how to cope, with ancient wisdom and modern sensibility.

Have been following the Rabbi for over twenty years. I am not Jewish but a devout student of Torah studies. Have given his books to all my children. May his descendents be always blessed and may the Light of the Lord always shine on his Soul.

I am not a Jew, I have never met the Rabbi, nor do I have an addictive personality, but I fell in love with this Righteous Man. May he always be in the presence of G-d, because Rabbi Dr Twerski was a Human reflection of HaShem.

Dobro je rečeno, ali opet mi je teško razumeti da je to stalno i zaboravim rečene postavke i uvek mi je novo bez obzira koliko bih slušao u jednostavne stvari koje su genijalne. Zato još jednom hvala- amin.

ThankUMuch. I hope to watch more videos of RTwerski for meaning and motivation in life. This must be one of the last video interviews with him. I wonder if MODERN conveniences have made us so LAZY. So, we value repeated effort and study less. And, we turn to addictions. Perhaps daily HABITS of EXERCISE & STUDY can help to encourage more effort. Bless RTwerski.

As a Catholic let me say that was one fabulous guy and his advice is basically the same thing we would get as Catholics, serve God, have faith in God, trust God, in times of danger trust God and take sensible care, and don't be hedonistic, pleasure is not the same as happiness at all. He's right, this is one very messed up generation. People do indeed go for the golden calf when they are afraid and have no leader. Now I am not sure if president sock puppet qualifies as a leader, despite the nuclear arsenal, which kind of makes me ponder the golden calf approach to the leadership vacuum, but history is a good lesson, forget the calf, trust God and whatever the ride, God knows best. That guy hit a home run on everything he said. God bless him and rest his soul and bless his family. Just pray that the sock puppet lasts out the term because VP crazy lady is even more scary; she could drive me right into golden calf mode! Scan the stairways for that odd banana peel; I notice Harris is eating them all the time. Or at least they look like bananas, but maybe genetic testing will reveal they are only 1/1024 banana, in that case it would be a Harvard banana. Feel free to think otherwise, if you do, you are probably too young. ;) God Bless! Woman where's me Guinness!

I have a message that I’m sharing where I can, some may not want to hear this, but I ask that we stay polite and seek truth together. 😊 ..... Love is an action. Feed the hungry, house the homeless, father the orphan, and protect the defenseless and vulnerable. Read the Word for yourself, not only relying on others for guidance. Pray for guidance.Yahushua/Yeshua - His Hebrew name who is usually called (Jesus) taught to keep the whole Word. Including the Law/Torah. Matthew 5:17 “Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not [g]the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished! 19 Therefore, whoever nullifies one of the least of these commandments, and teaches [h]others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever [i]keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Read 1 John. John tells us that sin is lawlessness, and that we must keep the commandments. Trust in the atonement of Yahushua/Yeshua who is usually called Jesus, and keep God (YHWH)'s whole Word/commandments. Revelation 12:17 So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Revelation 14:12 Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. Go to parableofthevineyard youtube channel for information about the bible and good bible studies. I'm in no way paid or sent by him for advertising. I just have learned a lot from his content. He's just a man who is trying to learn as well. :) Yeshua died so we may be resurrected to eternal life....
