Thank you, is there a video where he addresses getting drunk on Purim? I like the miracles in nature lesson.

In October 539 BC, Cyrus the great, the founder of Persian empire conquered Babylonia in a bloodless campaign. The Babylonian annals, the old testament and Cyrus' inscription cylinder all point to the peaceful act and humanitarian treatment of Cyrus toward the vanquished people: I came in peace, people laid green twigs on my pathway as sign of peace. My army did not terrorize any people...I rebuilt the houses, I returned the gods to their sanctuaries and declared all are free to worship...I removed the yokes from the people which were against their social standing...According to the old testament among the captives, 50,000 Jews were liberated and their return to Palestine was financed by Cyrus. Cyrus is the only gentile who has been anointed in Torah. I hope the Jews of the world will soon celebrate the Day of Cyrus and liberty in the month of October. I believe this celebration is the observation of historical truth and expression of gratitude owed by the Jews of the world to Persia. The story of Purim and observation of bloodshed needs more research and more historical evidence.

Cyrus (THAT Cyrus, bec there were more than one), was in FACT the issue of Queen Esther and Ahasueros! There is a lot more of this story documented in an array of sources outside of the Purim Megillah, which was accurate but designed in a specific style. The very end of the Megillah, however, announces that this story, and the fact that afterward Mordechai was rewarded with a prestigious position, the tax system was changed on his behalf , and some other things, are all recorded in the Royal records of Persia and Medea of the time (i might have spelled that last nation wrong, though that's no biggie; it's not English anyway...). But leave it to the archaeologists, and more records shall be unearthed . If you've got the story of Cyrus, it's not in a historical vacuum - you have the prior events leading up to his actions as well.

Well, that isn't how I had Passover taught. Went more with the 10th plague passing the sons of the Jewish people and only harming the sons of Egypt. The pharaoh freed the Jews as a result of the 10th plague. The parting of the Red Sea was a bit later in the story. Granted I'm not a rabbi.
