Rabbi Sacks zt"l Stonesetting / Matzeiva - Lady Elaine Sacks

The following eulogy was offered by Lady Elaine Sacks at the stonesetting / matzeiva of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks zt"l which took place at Bushey New Cemetery on 30th August 2021 / 22 Elul 5781.

I have a Rabbi Sacks memory I would like to share. My friend and I were in seminary and it was May 2016 at the Great Synagogue in Jerusalem, and Rabbi Sacks zt"l was speaking about his new book, 'Not in G-D's name." At the end of the event, as Rav Sacks was being ushered out of the room, my friend mustered up the courage and called out to him something along the lines of, "Rav Sacks, when will Moshiach come?" or "What will it take for Moshiach to come?" He turned to her and said, "It will come from the youth." May Rabbi Sacks's neshama have an aliyah and may his family and loved ones be comforted with the mourners of Zion.

Thank you for sharing these precious memories of your husband. As a Christian who loves Israel and the Jewish people, I find his teachings on the Torah, and other subjects, so very inspired. May G_d bless you in all your remembering of him. Thank you for sharing him with the rest of us.
