As always, great teaching I understand in a new way the struggle that is within me/us, between the emotions and love for Mitzvot and the strict observance. I feel they can sometimes “contradict”each other yet each one has its place, which helps (and should) strengthen our love for each other, especially the one who walks “differently“ from me

Great as always. Regarding the story of the little girl lighting shabbos candles via chilul shabbos, although surely surely beloved on God, comparing to one actually keeping shabbos כהלכה is a stretch. Rabbi Chaim of Volozhen clearly differentiates in a dramatic way between the devout ignorant chasid who eats his korban pesach zealously with all the כוונות הארי - but after chatzos, to the vulgar simpleton who gulps down the Korban pesach in a disgusting manner without any feelings other than physical pleasure. The first does not have the mitzva while the latter does....
