There goes 11 years of this preaching. Rabbi Sacks have departed exactly one day after my beloved mother and they both have left a path on this world for all of us. May Hashem bless their beloved memory and may we follow their paths.

Did Jacob really know about genetics? Why not? He was a Navi, so he certainly knew science was part of Hakosh Boruchu's creation. Why would he not know basic genetics?

What puzzles me is why Isaac gave his blessing to the one he thought was Esau, his favorite, even though he knew it was supposed to go to Jacob. He did know that, didn't he?

Esau always treated his father with respect and dignity. There is a midrash that Esau always wore his best clothing while serving Isaac. In this way Esau deceived Isaac. Isaac did not figure it out until Esau blurted out that he sold his birthright. It was only then that Isaac realized what exactly Esau was.
